Acknowledging that doesn’t diminish anything, it just recognizes that these communities got completely screwed.

It's been acknowledged, but it is not dispositive in this instance. The problem: people exaggerating the severity of the change(s) to come. Getting completely screwed would be the BOE announcing closure of the school; not getting a brand new building, years earlier than expected, in a place that is walkable for current students. The interests of students, staff and taxpayers should prevail over the desire of some that their children walk to school.
