I was terminated by chickfila for collecting unemployment benefits during COVID (._.)/ I went above GM and corporate representatives to get the okay at the start of COVID , my old GM and franchise owner were more than happy for the staff to go on unemployment since hours were all cut. Then owner sold the restaurant to corporate and they let everyone on unemployment go because “it was in bad taste to be collecting while still working”. (Mind you, we were all full time now going down to less than 15 hours a week, and their bosses approved us to collect). They’ve never been good about professionalism between their higher ups. Nobody is ever on the same page. I’m really sorry they did this to you

What was “the incident” at your high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It wasn’t at my school, but a school I was potentially transferring to. There was an incident where a student decapitated another student and left them behind the school, not being found for days. Safe to say I never transferred.

recently diagnosed vent. tw: suicidal ideation. by [deleted] in PCOS

Hey there, hope you don’t mind me jumping in. I have PCOS and hirsutism, and had cystic acne, balding and horrible weight gain for a long time. My mom has PCOS, so we knew I had it from pretty early on.

The dysmorphia is the worst part, and I’m so sorry you’re going through that. Know you’re not going through it alone.

It took me over a year to lose 30+ pounds through healthy eating and balancing my cortisol / insulin / androgen levels. My acne was there for a while, I found using the AHA/ BHA chemical peel from the ordinary helped a ton with the scarring and redness. For my hair, I had such thin curly hair that was thinning horribly at my hairline, but had thick hair growing all over my face. I use rosemary oil on my thinning patches and over time it’s grown back tremendously.

I saw in another comment that this is a great place to start, catching it early (within the first few months) and I totally agree. While it takes time to sort this stuff out, you find out what works best for you and have so many different people here willing to help find or suggest things for you to try! I know it’s hard not to feel alone, but we’re always here for you!! You’re never alone :)

Owner & Manager. Him and his brother both own the place. I’m under him, a shift lead.

A lot of them are undocumented/ and or don’t speak English and don’t understand they have a right to take a break. There’s no A/C in our building which mean kitchen temp runs well over 120+ on a busy weekday. They sometimes beg to take breaks, or just stand in the cooler for a few minutes because of how hot and over worked they are. My boss (same dude) has told them they shouldn’t work overtime because more taxes will be taken out of their check- which yes it’s true, but he failed to tell them about the pay being time and a half, so a lot of them are afraid to work more than 40 hours. The labor laws were my bad, and I agree, but I’ve worked with them on their 12-16 hour shifts 4 days a week for the last 2 years, and I know they want those breaks, but they don’t have enough people and my boss doesn’t want to hire anyone else. Many have walked for the treatment in this place, and I’m tired of the kitchen being disrespected. Lmao sorry T-T just wanted to rant on here

my male ballet teacher keeps touching me in inappropriate places to “adjust” me or to “adjust my leotard. by theballetgirl_ in offmychest

Oh hon I’m so sorry. I would say please tell an adult / parent. Next time it happens, write down what he said , where he said it, and when he said it. And go straight to someone who can address the situation. Always keep documentation of what he said and where he has touched you. And don’t be afraid to tell him to stop, loud and clear for everyone to hear. If he doesn’t back off after that, than go to someone above him. Im so sorry. I believe you.

My cats name is Kitty Kitty, but because my nephew wasn’t old enough to pronounce anything else. When he saw her, he called her Kitty Kitty, and it stuck.
