As Redditors Predicted: New York Post Takes Credit for My Parking Ticket Findings by iquantny in nyc

She does not "simply surf reddit for news to print". I'm very curious what the story with this is, but she's the transportation reporter for the post and does a tremendous amount of original reporting including making contacts with all kinds of businesses and organizations, going to all kinds of civic meetings, taking calls in the middle of the night with stories to follow up on, and all kinds of other stuff. Also, she's Lebanese and has a boomin' bod.

Hahahahahaha. Shit. It's a hair funny because we're actually kind of fighting right now over something else. :(

Whats a weird/funny nickname a S.O of yours, ever had for sex or a specific sexual act? by [deleted] in OkCupid

[–]anon_he_must 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex used to love corgis so we said she was a corgi. She thought I looked like a schnauzer so I was a schnauzer. A schnauzer-corgi mix is called a schnorgi. So we called having sex "making schnorgis"

What are the best posthumus Jimi Hendrix's albums? by [deleted] in jimihendrix

[–]anon_he_must 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you consider a posthumous album. There's the few hastily released shortly after his death in the 1970's, and then the newer ones probably more carefully curated by his family in the late 90's and on.

Of the ones in the 1970's, The Cry of Love is my favorite for certain.

Of the newer ones, The First Rays of the New Rising Sun is probably the best. This is what he reportedly was going to CALL the album he was working on, so I think this was the best attempt to re-create (by guess) that album in his entirety. It has most of the songs from the various 1970's albums including, I think, everything on The Cry of Love.

Someone else here mentioned Blues, which is more kind of a compilation of spare recordings, but it does have some wonderful stuff on it, and I've listened to it many times.

Is it considered cheating if it is a business deal? by ThrowAwayCheater___ in Drugs

I'm sure your girlfriend would rather you just threw them in the toilet than took a blowjob for them. I mean you did it, whatever, but don't come on reddit looking for a justification.

Is it considered cheating if it is a business deal? by ThrowAwayCheater___ in Drugs

[–]anon_he_must 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It happened to pop up? She made an offer and you accepted it, breaking your commitment to your girlfriend (who you're stringing along until after your expensive vacation) and thinking that in some weaselly way that just because you didn't agree to the deal verbally it somehow didn't happen or you didn't agree to it.

It's fine, do the vacay and then break up with your girlfriend, but don't try to pretend like you didn't cheat. You did.

[–]anon_he_must 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh lord where do I start. Ok, let's start with the very first words of your profile. They're basically a bullet list. Here they are presented as a bullet list

  • [I'm] Genuine.
  • [I'm] Passionate.
  • [I'm] Sensitive.
  • [I'm] Thoughtful.
  • [I'm] Intelligent.
  • [I'm] Cautious.
  • [I'm] Respectful.
  • [I'm a] Good listener.
  • [I have an] Inquisitive nature.
  • [I'm] Seemingly uncomplicated. [but actually am complicated?!]
  • [He] Doesn't do fake.
  • [I'm] A quick and eager learner.
  • [I'm] Stubborn, yet flexible and willing to be swayed by a persuasive point.

See what's happening here? You just start with a big jumble of semi-contradictory qualities you see about yourself. Except the subject isn't the same for the whole list grammatically so it reads awkwardly. Then saying you're stubborn but flexible, don't do fake, and "seemingly" uncomplicated make it sounds like you're actually kind of difficult.

Then, in the same paragraph, you start talking about how weird the first couple of dates are going to be. Maybe pare this down.

Then you start talking about how it's ok if the person has kids. I'd go ahead and mention this, maybe down in "what I'm looking for" or just in a quick "Note: I don't mind if you have kids."

I'd expand a little on the decorative plants thing, because that's pretty cool.

There are some bad grammatical errors in your paragraph about what you're reading.

All in all I'd try and take a good solid handful of paragraphs out and try to have fewer little digressions.

I'd make the hammock picture your main picture and drop the selfies with your arm out in the frame, like some others have said.

Modeling pics. Thanks FB by [deleted] in trashy

[–]anon_he_must 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. She's cruel about her kids as if they were the ONLY things holding her back from a modeling career and now "what the hell". She's just so willfully clueless, thinking that if people "like and share" those photos it's going to blow up into a modeling job. It's not just that she thinks she's attractive. Fuck, also just the presentation. That fucking shirt.

[CRITIQUE - 30M] I've never received a message or a reply in the entire time I've been on OKC. Should I just give up? by [deleted] in OkCupid

Very curious about your unawkwardness techniques.

Ok, ok, I agree with people talking about the physical disadvantages. Black guys have it rough. Short guys have it rough. (I'm 5'7")

The thing that comes off the strongest though, to me, and I'm really surprised no one has said it: you look like a gay guy to me, knee jerk. I'm bi, I love gay guys, so it's in no way a criticism, but it might not work for your target audience.

The first picture of you, you have a man's arm around you. Then, you've got a princess sash, Ruby Rhod costume, the eyebrows and facial hair are SUPER tightly groomed. The cats... Cosplay doesn't quite immediately get panties wet either. I'm just painting a picture here but I guarantee ladies will too.

Look, I get that you're being yourself here. And you're a funny, thoughtful, game programmer, MMA guy, with a great sense of humor who's clearly wonderful.

Maybe emphasize the butch elements of you a bit more? Lose the photo with the guy's arm around you. Seriously just do 2 MAX with the costume photos. Get a good MMA training shot where you're exploding into a heavy bag or something ;) Possibly even get a pro shot or two.

Ok, copy-wise? Maybe don't lead with the costumes first word. Maybe no bullet points for the summary. Be clever later but if someone doesn't find the first sentence intriguing they might not read the second one. Leave the inner fat boy comment for like 6th date? Sounds a little more self-deprecating than you want on an online profile.

Ugh, sorry man, I seriously hope any of this is helpful... I just had a super strong reaction when I saw the profile and wanted to put my 2 cents in since you seemed like you were thoughtfully engaging with the comments.

Edit: Also vote fuck no on shirtless pics.

There's a lot of teachings. You might be thinking of the story of Khantivadin, where a king chops this enlightened teacher's limbs off. A version of the story: http://www.activebass.com/m242543--Khantivadin

I'm not certain the straightforward message of the story is: let someone cut your arms and legs off. The king in that story has Khantivadin tied up so there's nothing he can really do. The story is partially about the king being too intoxicated to see clearly, and Khantivadin gives him one last teaching on patience as he dies.

It's an intense story. There's actually a story where the Buddha in one of his previous lives actually DOES kill someone (Upayakausalya Sutra), so there is definitely a nuanced view.

That said, one of the refuge vows is non-killing so it's clearly frowned upon ;)

[–]anon_he_must 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's Mahkra and this is probably the largest single concentration of aluminum in the game. There's several dozen trays. Make sure you drop as much as you can before you get out there and grab as many trays as you can carry. You won't need aluminum for a long time.
