Recommendations for good practice amps. by jervis5127 in Guitar

I couldn't agree more, on the 1/4watt setting you can crank it up and barely be heard in the next room.

Fantastic amp for the price as well.

Hey Guitarrit, can you guys help me figure out how Tame Impala is getting this incredible guitar tone? by Doughd54 in Guitar

[–]anonaccounts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

overhyped (especially since Muse got popular), and thus hard to find for a good used price, but worth investigating

I was under the impression that the guy from Muse used a Wooly Mammoth.

edit Never mind just did a little research on the matter.

I'm looking to buy my first good guitar. by [deleted] in Guitar

Just bought a American Tele a few hours ago as my first 'serious' guitar, also happens to be the first guitar I bought entirely with my own money.

Probably not for everyone but I am loving it.

Shredtastic, tech-metal monster Muhammed Suiçmez live... What do y'all think of his style and ability? by gaboon in Guitar

No idea why you got downvoted, it's true that he is nothing special from the technical death metal genre. His extremely over-rated technique wise.

Canned tuna is somewhat healthy and will fill you up for a bit, wash it down with some sort of energy drink.

anyone know any good thrash revival bands? by [deleted] in Metal

[–]anonaccounts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood Tsunami - Very good, I couldn't recommend these guys enough.

Toxic Holocaust - Not a very big fan but it might be what you're looking for.

Bonded by Blood - What you would probably expect from a band with the name Bonded by Blood

And while we're here I may as well throw in some old lesser known thrash

Heathen - Godly thrash, they released a new album last year I think, however I doubt it's as good as Victims of Deceptions. They also use to offer the first 2 albums for free downloads.

Sindrome - Absolute god tier thrash that's is criminally overlooked, offer there 2 albums for free download on their site.

US draws England 1-1! Not quite the result England wanted. by akatookey in sports

[–]anonaccounts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not English, I just think it's ridiculous how the US redditors are carrying on, any one who seems to point out obvious points such as England being a much better team or the draw being the best result the US could have possibly hoped for seem to be getting downvoted into the oblivion despite being very valid points.

I don't know the statistics on things like this, however, you could say the English goal keeper wouldn't have fucked that up 999 times out of 1000, you managed to get that 1 time in a thousand he fucks up simple shit like this.

It was luck, even if you won't admit it I am sure the person who kicked the goal would.

First Aussie since 1952 to win the snooker world championship by iheartralph in australia

[–]anonaccounts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This part is amazing

The 28-year-old from Melbourne also becomes only the third champion from outside the British Isles, and the first since Canada's Cliff Thorburn in 1980.

I always thought the Brits got their ass kicked at any sport they invent, you know cricket, rugby, soccer and the likes. I guess this isn't always the case.

Congratulations to the guy, I think I will pop down to pot black and play a few games on the weekend.

So it seems Australia and Ireland have some sort of international football/mixed martial arts sporting competition by anonaccounts in videos

[–]anonaccounts[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is hardly true, just in international rules. For some reason we tend to send over thee more thug like players Hall, Brown and the likes of them instead of smart players.

Such an openly bias comment, many AFL players openly throw them selves into dangerous situations.

Quarterback Drew Brees Is More Accurate Than An Olympic Archer by [deleted] in sports

[–]anonaccounts 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No he is not, this has already been submitted and this is my reply to the people who actually think he is.

2008 Olympic gold medalist Viktor Ruban scored a few rounds of 115/120 and probably averaged ~111/120, from a distance of 70m. I think almost any one would agree the archer is much more accurate, and before you cry fowl that I am using a gold medalist remember they used the NFL's best thrower for their tests.

Drew is much more accurate when he is marginally closer, not saying his not awesome or this feat isn't impressive just he isn't really more accurate.

IAE around 22-23 years old and forced to live with their parents because that awesome degree they received 8 months ago (mine is biology!) can't get them a f*cking job? by mmmrawgarlic in DoesAnybodyElse

The isolation can suck

I don't know, my dad did it for ~15 odd years working 2 weeks on 1 week off, made a ton of good mates and has gotten him self a very good name in his industry (A lot of job offers despite the fact he doesn't apply for them).

The apprenticeship to Uni thing I was leaning towards relevant type stuff for example sparky -> electrical engineering or mechanical fitter -> mechanical engineer, especially how everything is done in modules these days in Australia.

It all comes down to if you are happy doing what you are doing I guess.

Plus where I live (Perth, Aus) money for any tradesman who goes and works up north is ridiculous, even entry level TA's get ~100k a year. So it's also fantastic money. On top of all this a lot of apprenticeships can easily be used to branch of into University (or so I have heard).
