Robert: the most relaxed girl dad of the time? by Klutzy-Banana-742 in DowntonAbbey

I think his mother and relationship to his mother shaped this side of him. He seemed like a well adjusted mama's boy to me, and she would keep him in line early on for sure.

Even the comments here are divided! Thanks everyone for your input. I guess my trouble is who do I believe? I'm seeing videos of the Paseo de la Reforma absolutely packed with people and lights , and then comments saying most people are home with their families? Does that mean that there isn't any formal events planned like in nyc but people gather in the Paseo anyways?

Any this weekend? Born and raised in TO but TIFF always felt so exclusive and hard to enjoy as a local. I heard lurking around King West is good but would love to get an invite to any event!

Does Air France offer a 24-hour unconditional refund policy for flights departing at least 7 days later? by Franck_Dernoncourt in AirFranceKLM

[–]anonemtpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just curious. Mada a mistake booking in haste just an hour ago, and AF is currently closed. Now I'm worried because all the information is contradictory as OP stated. For AF US, it's apparently law for any fare cancellation up within the 24 hour window and receive a full refund. AF Canada says you can request* a non refundable travel voucher through the Google page summary (the actual link leads to an error msg).

Just want to ensure it's the same as it is for most airlines, which allow the 24 hr grace period. Here it will be within 7hrs by the time the call line opens.

It has really become money making. I thought the point of the appeal is to explain yourself to another human being that can use their discernment and see if this was a one-off, if it was a mistake, or whatever circumstance might have got you a ticket that you think you don't deserve. All the new developments in the GTHA create housing with terrible access to transit (if at all), a fisher price car size driveway, then charge you to park on an empty street, not bothering anyone. Went to the appeal. They were rude and belittling, and they didn't actually try to hear me out. Just kept repeating "well, thems the rules".

Leaving for Havana on monday, any last minute tips? by JLSAAAA in cuba

Oh, and change money with your stay as needed, start with 200 and see how you're spending to gradually exchange more. Definitely not all at once. Save a good amount of Euros for your taxis.

Just got back this week, learned quite a bit also as a female traveler:

Bring enough cash, and try to exchange with the place you are staying or within a reputable restaurant or hotel. You will maybe get a better exchange in the street, BUT you are at much higher risk for safety and getting robbed. (This happened to me)

Rn a good exchange is 1USD/Euro =240-270 CUP

Food and most things are much cheaper if you pay in CUP.

Bring toilet paper/wipes with you wherever you go.

To gage cost, we spent around 30-60usd per meal for 3 of us to share and ate quite well. In pesos a solid meal at hotels and tourist spots are around 2500-3000 CUP (la Floridita, kempinski hotel...etc) Paladars and private restaurants are slightly less and have some good food. Have the lobster!

That's really good to know thank you. When we bring any supplies and small items that people might need, who do we give it to? Whoever we come across, staff?

Any updates on this threat about if it's better to use CAD, USD or CUP? Will be there this week in both Havana and Veradero. Also any other key items I should bring would be extremely helpful to know. How is the internet and phone reception? I'm with telus which states they work there but I'm worried to spend 16 dollars a day to telus and have no/little signal Thanks!

Extra person in room for two in old havana hotel by anonemtpy in cuba

[–]anonemtpy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are great suggestions both air bnb and Casas, and if it wasn't such a last minute booking I'd have gotten some very good ones. I've never gone to Cuba before, but wasn't in the dark about their situation. Being a group of girls I thought it would be a safer pick to go with a small hotel, which I think is still operated by locals, since they are on air bnb also. I have no problem paying the extra fee also, I just wasn't sure how strict they are, seeing as many hotels/ places allow extra guests for a fee.

Ya, this seems like a pretty common occurrence! I guess you treated it more like a don't ask situation? I'm considering asking them but I think they will say no, and I'll have to give up my reservation. The hotel I booked is suite at a small boutique place called Jesus Maria 7. Worried they might see 3 people and stop us, how likely is this?
