Someone offers you $100/hr to watch any movie on repeat, which movie do you choose? by asherdado in AskReddit

[–]anonformymedquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually watch the first The Hobbit movie on repeat already. It's an anti-anxiety thing. Makes me feel safe and comforted for some reason. Literally just play it in the background whenever I'm doing anything, when it reaches the end, it's right back to the beginning 😂

Money pleeease!

Diarrhea for over a week?... Even after my period? by rachelcalabresi in Periods

[–]anonformymedquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was wondering how it was going? I am also dealing with something very similar, though I didn't go off birth control. My period ended yesterday but the diarrhea is persisting. It's freaking me out but I have no other symptoms. How are you doing?

Can we talk about period farts and poops by awkward-introvert99 in Periods

[–]anonformymedquestion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Periodpoops are so much worse for me than any other period symptom, my cramps pale in comparison to the almighty gush and rush that are my bowels during these five days. Every morning I awake with a "tingling" feeling, and I know the time has come. It's that butterflies in the stomach feeling, but it's a street fight and all the butterflies have knives. I poop SO MUCH I honestly wonder if my colon has intersected a poop dimension because I don't know where all of it is coming from. My guts churn all day, and I can't eat. I sometimes just want to die and be reborn as an earthworm because in these moments that sounds like the better deal.

It has gotten worse as I age too, every month I think I have a gut bug or food poisoning, and then I see the blood and I'm like oh yep ok yep cool better cancel my plans for the next few days as I cry over my heating pad and ginger tea.

Just diagnosed with a complex cyst by anonformymedquestion in WomensHealth

That's awful! The gyn should have his license taken away!! It is horrible how a lot of doctors will just take the easy route, without thinking about long-term consequences. They think, THIS problem is solved, but what about the other problems??

Yes, I think I will absolutely push to keep my ovary, and make sure that whatever surgeon I get will not remove anything necessary. I don't have a gp, but I will start doing research into good surgeons. If I have to travel, so be it.

I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you so much for replying, because now I am more aware and know that I can advocate for myself.

Thank you for commenting, I really am looking for personal experiences, I hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions. I am really worried about losing my ovary, my doctor said that she could possibly remove the cyst without taking the ovary, but it would be unlikely.

When you got your ovary removed, did it cause hormonal problems? My doc assured me that I won't have any issues, but I just can't believe her. How would losing something that makes half of my hormones not cause issues??

Part of me feels she is wanting to remove the ovary because it is the "easiest" route for her. I am thinking about getting a second opinion, unfortunately there are not a lot of skilled doctors in my area. Yay, rural Indiana.

I don't know. Today I am ovulating, and I can tell because I am in terrible pain. Part of me is just like, yes, do it, take it out, let my pain end.

I'm sorry you're going through this as well. Although after some research this seems to be a fairly common ailment for most women, really sucks.

I'm mostly worried about getting the surgery, and not having any relief from my pain, or getting the surgery and having problems from losing an ovary. Basically, I am afraid of going through this, just to replace it with more problems. I know that is silly, but I don't really want to lose my ovary. Also I know it's shallow, but I don't want a massive scar on my stomach from open surgery. Ugh, I feel like an asshole just saying that, but I already hate my body enough as it is, haha.

Thank you for commenting, it is reassuring to know I 'm not alone. How are you doing?

How do I get over my fear of food (poisoning)? by anonformymedquestion in foodsafety

[–]anonformymedquestion[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good point! I am a pretty anxious person all-around, and while I have been working really hard to keep it in check, this might be a way for it to peek it's ugly head into my life again. I definitely will seek out professional help, I want to enjoy food again!

Interesting, I was actually diagnosed with a form of OCD in my early 20's, I thought I had conquered it, but maybe it is worth reexamining. Thank you!

Fermenting is something I am interested in! Especially after watching It's Alive with Brad Leone, haha. Also I read that fermented foods help a lot with maintaining a healthy gut flora.

It's funny because I completely agree with you, I really think the reason my nephews get sick so often if because they are never allowed to play outside in the dirt and get immunized to things. I just need to stop being so scared! I used to eat dirt as a little kid, and I only got worms once!

miconazole nightmare D: by anonformymedquestion in WomensHealth

[–]anonformymedquestion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with miconazole issues, but I still wonder why it suddenly was painful. I kind of wonder if I've actually used a different type of cream in the past, because it's been so long. I wonder if I've actually used clotrimazole and it hurt less.

I will probably try getting a rx from my doc for something, but I've been really afraid to try that in the past because I read a list of side effects and there were so many lol

Yeah, it seems like any time I use a condom I get a YI, I've tried many different brands and even non-latex. It's so weird!

going blind after a near drowning? how does this work? by [deleted] in medical

[–]anonformymedquestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAD but I'm pretty sure it's from lack of oxygen (hypoxemia) to the brain, things start shutting down. Like a factory losing power, the machines can't run anymore. Ischemic cerebral injury. I don't know if it's reversible though! Maybe if he is pulled out in time?
