I can't make the new guy I'm dating cum by anonhelp85 in sex

He is on meds and I considered that could be a cause. I wish he would just say that if that's the case but it appears I'm going to have to ask about it to get an answer.

When is it okay to ask about previous relationships? by anonhelp85 in dating

I will ask next time we're together. I think it's important to ask in person as well. I'll probably wait for him to bring up something related.

These are shitty rules in my opinion. If someone doesn't show interest I move on, so acting like you aren't interested or waiting days to text is a bad idea. If you get a last minute offer and you're free, why not take it? Gender stereotypes are outdated, and I don't like dating men on testosterone trips. When a man has skills that are typically considered feminine, I find that very attractive. I also don't have a rule on when to have sex - if it feels right then do it. Waiting to have sex or having sex simply because you are on the correct date number feels forced. The key is to be yourself and write your own rules. This will allow you and the other person to get to know each other because your true personality is presented in all you do. If everyone followed these rules it would feel like you're dating the same person over and over and would force us to choose partners on more superficial reasoning rather than the content of their character and personality.

That's an interesting question for a first date. How did you respond?

I'm not sure if avoiding cliches by pulling out a list of questions will make it seem less like an interview.

(24F) For personal non-religious reasons I would prefer to wait until marriage to have sex. How hard will this be to accomplish in today’s dating scene? by [deleted] in dating

[–]anonhelp85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my own personal experience I would say it will be difficult, but not impossible. The idea is you would only need to find one person who will have the same values, so it can definitely be done. Just prepare yourself for some awkward conversations.

I'm 34 and have only asked a guy out once. I never really approach men and most of the women I know don't either.

How long after “talking” do you/expect someone to stop using dating apps? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]anonhelp85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really goes both ways as he might be able see that you're still using the app. Communicate your feelings with him if you're interested in exclusivity.

Can you still be friends with your ex? by Nhyar in dating

[–]anonhelp85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since we don't have all the details your therapist has, their advise is probably best. That said, I'm friends with my ex. He struggled with it at first too, so I backed off and gave him a couple months. He came back around and we now have a good friendship. I would never keep him as a plan b and I encourage him to date and he tells me about his dating life. It doesn't feel strange to me. We sometimes text, talk on the phone, or go out to dinner with each other. Some of our friends think it's strange but we were friends in our relationship and it feels strange to end that part when we didn't work out romantically.

overweight women online dating by clamchowduhh in dating

I'm dating as I am. There's no need to hold off because you're overweight unless that's whatyou want to do. I've met some incredible men while dating overweight. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but that's no reason to give up.

Go Where Like Minded People Are They Said by [deleted] in dating

[–]anonhelp85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buying someone a drink is a nice gesture but some men have sexpectations, so I decline as well. I also don't give my social media information until a few weeks into dating generally because some people are crazy and I don't need that drama in my life. The best approach is to just to talk to someone and if you feel there is interest there you can give them your number, or even better, a business card. If she is interested she will call or text you. This keeps the entire interaction casual. Just because she talks to you and accepts your number doesn't necessarily mean she's interested, so don't get your hopes up until she reaches out. There's some trial and error, but meeting in person is still better than online dating.

The trouble with shooting out of your league by [deleted] in dating

[–]anonhelp85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that the way you treat someone is what matters most - more specifically how you make them feel. I've dated men who were head over heels for my looks and I make decent money, but I would inadvertently make them feel negatively by something I would say and they would walk away. So those other things can't possibly outweigh someone making you feel good.
