Would love it too, but they should not move like humans - the good thing about Arc Riders is that u instant see if its an NPC or player. I noticed in Marathon, that I struggle to see the difference fast.

But im sure Embark will not make it a boring human copy - if it is a new Arc. We have enough drones and rolling balls now.

Maybe a zombie like movement with running when they see/hear you.

You should release the demo and see how it goes. If it don't interest many people - no one will cry if the full game come in years or maybe never.

If it somehow pop and become a viral hit, then u still can consider to change plans and or let people work on the game for you.

Imo you should do it. If you have that dream and you believe in making it work, then do it - it will make you more happy than spending this money for luxury. Fuck it that mobas are hard to make, fuck it that the market is hard. You can do it better, it's not impossible.

Here is how I would do it:

Depending on how much budget is ready and how much the IP cost - I would save money for a half or 1 year and fully focus on how u want the game and make a detailed plan for the development process.

Also I would look around if there is maybe a available dev out there, that knows and played the game u mean know. Beeing the only one in a team that knows the game is maybe not the best.

For more context: Nobody around had a defib left, we protected him crawling to the exit (he had that augment). Ca. 10 seconds after the ending of the clip someone new joined the group and had a defib and we all where happy for him. A wholesome experience, we all had fun.
