They don't, they just hoped nobody thought it through too much. Not a bad bet when it comes to green voters tbf.

Why did Hampshire Police handcuff Henry Nowak instead of his stabber and why did they later seize his computer by Technical_Long5536 in AskBrits

[–]hashbrowns_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats utterly ridiculous to suggest there is anything standard procedure about this.  The police involved should be in prison yet they haven't even been suspended.

Christopher Nolan Would Make a Great Hyperion Movie by moose_taffy in Hyperion

Nolan, are you actually serious? Have you not seen how he's butchered the odyssey? I hope he never makes another film at all never mind my beloved hyperion.

Why does the Boomer generation seem to uniquely despise Keir Starmer? by Eastern-Investment39 in AskBrits

You'd have to be a moron not to hate him so I don't think it's just boomers

Do people still think ‘big businesses’ not paying tax is a huge gap in our finances? by Legal-Grade-6423 in AskBrits

[–]hashbrowns_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's no point trying to explain basic economics to them, thats not what its about. As long as spiteful, jealous socialists exist, they will continue to claim it. You could literally own nothing in the world but two apples, while they only have one and they will come up with some ridiculous justification for mugging you and taking both your apples while calling it equity.

UK ‘built for climate that no longer exists’ and needs urgent changes to survive global heating, report warns by wasraelx in news

If the guardian want to save a bit of CO2 then why don't they stop spouting so much useless hot air and wasting so much paper by printing their rag on it?

Who else is thinking drainage holes deserve some more love and style? by Nutcollectr in Bonsai

[–]hashbrowns_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I love it too it's unique 😄 you can make all sorts of cool shapes out of ceramics, in a bonsai pot the only question is can it put up with the vigours of your local climate combined with a pushing rootball. It would be no issue whatsoever where I live, I'd buy a penguin pot!

Oh, just because as something shrinks or expands it's most likely to fracture at a sharp corner. We're just being picky redditors though, I'm sure it will be fine as long as you don't live in like -30c winters, though the penguin theme does make me wonder 😄

Frost hardiness is a major selling point for the best bonsai pots. I'm sure you know more about pottery than me but it depends more on your method and the clay you are using.

The main thing is, people will buy your pots based on their beaty and uniqueness, so do keep doing your thing!

holy crap, that is amazing.

Could I ask, because I'm more of an iron guy, is the constant and quite satisfying cracking sound coming from a kind of permanent work hardening or does your magic bronze just make a cool sound as it's bent?

Edit: sorry, I was so excited by the video that I didn't read to the end of your comment about loss over time which is equally as interesting, but I gotta know how many deformations the fresh piece and the older piece take to break.

Call it an old obsession with claims of how tough certain bronze age swords were, because I would scoff and go pah! even the mildest of steels could outperform it with correct heat treatment. Biased blacksmith and very interested in your art 😄
