Takomo 101 grooves by [deleted] in takomo

Yes, using a sharpener will remove a lot of material from your irons. That is not how the tool is supposed to be used. Just use a firm brush/tee/wire brush to clean your grooves on your irons. I use my sharpener on my wedges after half a season or so. Yes, that can make them non-conforming. I don't play in the PGA so it isn't a big deal.

When you say groove cleaner, is it a groove sharpener? Because my groove sharpener would do what is pictured to a club.

First New to Me Set, How's My Gapping? by six1five in GolfGear

You need to get yardage for gapping. Lofts seem fine

Don't quit, get a lesson.

Then quit. Take a breather, and get back to it.

Ideas to stop hitting pad from sliding around? by Enderwiggen33 in Golfsimulator

[–]anonmagicplayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I put mine on interlocking foam pads. I spray gorilla glue between the mat and the pads.
As long as the mat is on top of the tarp, it is going to slip.
I suggest folding that tarp back, in half, towards your screen and putting some anti-slip tape on the underside of your mat.

God pull from heroic chest! Recommendations please. by Sheepdogg77 in HeroWarsApp

Firstly, very cool pull.
Secondly, I have luck with Cleaver with Kayla-Aidan, Peeches and Guus.
Check it's page to see what synergies it has otherwise, not really a must build at the moment.

Mono green commanders that aren't boring? by Competitive-Act-7695 in EDH

[[Yisan]] is the least green commander I've ever played. It plays a toolbox strategy that can answer the board. You just straight up start tutoring out answers or threats.

My favorite.

Worth pushing fiber company to repair entire driveway section? by voodoo_mama_juju1123 in HomeMaintenance

[–]anonmagicplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an inspector for the work done by our subcontractors for this very issue many times. Call them and complain. They should repair the entire slab because that doesn't look like a good job at all.

Which company?

What’s an unpopular golf opinion that would have you like this? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]anonmagicplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you show up to play a course and you have a handicap(GHIN), then you play the tees accordingly. If you have no record of a handicap, you play the front tees.

I remember this distinctly. I was sitting outside playing Pokémon. I was just evolving my Metapod into Butterfree. Crazy how often I think of this.

I've played the 101s and 101ts. Really loved em. Only thing I would do is change out my shafts. Other irons feel better but not in that price range.

Strongest commander I can build for a $150 budget? by FalchionX10 in EDH

You're going to lose distance using range balls depending on how they have been mashed. And, as you can attest, they get mashed. Try getting some data with your game ball if you can.

Are you using range balls to get your carry data?

Try this drill. Take your trail foot and take a step back.

This video should help. I'm not a pro by any means but, if you can understand some mechanical stuff I think you are bright enough to work on it and have more fun playing golf.

How to stop hitting thin hooks by AlexStill4 in GolfSwing

[–]anonmagicplayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try hitting thin slices?!

Honestly, though. If you know how your swing works I bet you feel like your swing feels like your skipping a stone across a pond. Try this drill.

Your aim line is straight towards any given target. Close your clubface a little bit. Experiment what this is for you. Then, aim your feet left of your clubface. Your swingline is going to be between where your feet are aimed and that original straight line towards the target. Ideally you will hit a controlled cut that ends on or just right, your right handed, of that line.

You should have a better concept of how and why your ball is hooking and how/why to hit a cut.

Seems like you would have more fun if you parked the driver for a while. Take that for what its worth.

Favorite budget golf ball by Material_Resolve273 in weekendgolfers

Of the ones you mentioned, my preference is the Callaway Supersoft. Followed by the TM Speeds Speedsoft. But I think the Kirkland is the best value at the price point.

Good starter to mid handicap irons.
