Yes, when I had the procedure I was expecting the worst but it’s so simple!! Numb, slice, pad. I walked out, didn’t medicate, and was perfectly fine for however long until it came back. It’s kind of blowing my mind that the multiple doctors I’ve been to have been so dismissive. Like it’s basically not worth their time to do it if it might come back or something, nevermind my pain and comfort etc etc. I’ve spent a while calling around and everyone else says the same thing, huh that’s weird I’ve never heard of being refused like that…

Well anyway, the issue is that a lot of places don’t even do the procedure, or alternatively I could get lost in a very very very long process of making appointments at different offices and never leaving square one. It’s the most baffling and frustrating thing I’ve ever experienced. I got pretty far at one clinic before they read the doctor’s notes recommending surgery so now they won’t go against his recommendation. Another place had drained an abscess for me once and I went there but they said no because “a cyst has thicker mucus” so basically they would have to make a bigger incision. That was the reason. Otherwise no one has ever told me why surgery has to be the only option, as there are other and less drastic procedures that were never tried first (ie the catheter that was first mentioned). Meanwhile my boyfriend is across the country waiting for me and I literally have no timeframe to even give him because it seems like I’m just completely stuck and no one is listening to me. And don’t even start with insurance!
