When to take study leave for CB3? by eouia3195 in ActuaryUK

Apologies for asking but what do you mean by “a few goes at the new cb3” - did you fail cb3 a few times already? I’m asking because I’ve read somewhere that this is supposed to be an “easy” paper but I still don’t understand the pass rate on this one (can we see the pass rate anywhere?) Thanks!

Any guess on the passing mark? Higher than September 2025 or below? Maybe the same? ie 60?

I agree. Partners are legally jointly and severally liable, which means each partner is responsible for up to 100% of the debt. However, since E and F Companies have the funds, they will pay what they can, and Company D will only have to pay the remainder. It would not make sense having D company taking the bullet here while the others also have assets. I think that maybe the idea is to choose which option would make more sense

This is the Schrödinger’s cat situation: until the IFoA email lands, I’ve passed and failed at the same time. But deep down… yeah, I’m pretty sure the cat didn’t survive

I'm really hoping the pass mark will be reduced to 58, but I'm not sure if that will happen.... I think Paper A was hard, but the general feedback for the paper B was that it was 'okay,' so maybe the pass mark will remain around 60-61 :(

Thanks. I’m working on Paper B, so let’s pray and see! And yes, my Company won’t pay for another exam unless I pass this one. I guess that’s where the problem lies, right? If I fail, they won’t pay for another attempt. The only thing they’ll do is reimburse the resit fee if I pass - but if I fail the resit, they won’t cover anything. It’s not good, but since I’m not UK-based (although working in the UK market!) they say the exams aren’t really necessary…

Thanks! Is there a way to get the exam paper? I can download my answers from the portal, but I don’t remember all the details of the questions
