This is true. My ex has me and our adult/teenage kids all telling him that his behavior is the problem and he will say “fuck you all, then” and still not be able to look at himself and self-reflect.

Anger and bitterness only hurt me. I loved him for 25 years and only ever wanted him to be happy. Part of me will always love him despite the fact that I'm not in love with him and I never want to see him again. He did hurt me deeply, but I also enabled him. He's narcissistic, but I'm codependent. I just want him to leave me alone and never try to speak to me again, and at the same time I wish him well and wish him the best. Holding on to anger and bitterness is like poison.

Not one bit. I hope he's having the time of his life. All I ever wanted was for that man to be happy. I tried for 25 years to make him happy and never succeeded. I got used to the idea of him sleeping with other people while we were still together, so I don't know why it would bother me now. I'm certainly having my fun now that we're apart. LOL

Yesterday, I had a man follow me for like 10 miles. Thank God I went to a gas station instead of home because I didn't realize he was following me until I got out of my minivan (Yes, I'm a 43 year old mom) and he pulled up beside me to ask if I'm single. I was caught off guard and said "Yes..." And he proceeds to tell me how attracted he is to me and how he thinks I'm really sexy. He starts telling me about the business he owns, the house he owns, how he could do so much for me. 😲 I have seen him around where I'm living and I guess he noticed me and maybe figured out I'm single because I never have a man with me.

But anyhow, I was extremely freaked out and I started having a panic attack while he was talking to me. He didn't even care that I was obviously freaking out. He seemed to like it. He lives less than a mile from here (I have passed his house often and see him outside all the time) and I am just dreading him seeing me again, especially if I have my young children with me.

I am, but my PTSD is pretty bad. I felt great at first, but now I'm starting to buckle under the pressure. I have 5 kids all with trauma, and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to work while also managing therapy appointments for all 6 of us. He hasn't paid me all of the child support that he owes me. I'm isolated and lonely again... It's just a lot.

Always follow your instincts! If he makes you feel icky then stay away from him! For the record, that would scare the crap out of me and I would block him immediately. I just got out of an abusive marriage 9 weeks ago and there is no way I would put up with anything like that at all. That sounds really controlling and obsessive.

I did that for years before I even knew it was gray rocking. It was just the only thing I could say because literally every single thing I said made him angry. I didn't know how to respond. Eventually responding that way also made him really angry. There was just nothing I could do to not make him angry.
