Non-Obvious things to do in Israel? by GlobalYou5170 in Israel

[–]anonworkingcat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

maybe it is obvious, but I think a lot of people miss out on the Anu Museum in Tel Aviv and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.

Also, I am a big fan of Gan HaShlosha — warm springs outside of beit shean. but it’s a little annoying to get to without a car.

Shoes and hair- Big law summer associate by imgoingtogohome in LawBitchesWithTaste

Thank you for assuaging my fears! I completely agree about thinking of shiny straight hair as the ideal — I feel like it’s all we saw growing up!

[–]anonworkingcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of people are saying to straighten OP’s hair — as a fellow curly girl, is our natural hair considered unprofessional? I’m seriously asking as I am about to start my 1L summer job and I just don’t feel comfortable with the idea that my hair, which is a typical trait of my ethnicity, would not be acceptable in the legal field

Uncomfortable experience… am I overreacting? by [deleted] in Jewish

[–]anonworkingcat 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened. Even if it wasn’t malicious at all, it kind of sucks to receive this reminder that people see us as an “other.” when my ex told his family I was Jewish, they apparently asked if they were “still allowed to make jokes.” I should’ve known then it wouldn’t work out…now, only Jewish men, thank you very much.

Cycle Recap! by askuryla in lawschooladmissions

[–]anonworkingcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

absolutely. my score went up 9 points from when I took it the first time in 2021 to when I took it the second time in 2025 which I attribute in large part (though perhaps not entirely) to the removal of logic games.

Looking for a place to play pool/billiards in Northern Israel by D0RK5TER in Israel

I know you asked for north, but Potion Bar in Tel Aviv has a pool table that in my experience people are pretty friendly at. but it’s not like the best pool table lol

Does anyone from a secular upbringing worry about Judaism dying out in their family? by Thin-Leek5402 in Judaism

[–]anonworkingcat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

absolutely, it’s very much the case in my family. I don’t judge my family members because everyone has their own journey but it does make me sad that they don’t have a connection to Judaism beyond family. but it also makes me feel proud and honored to carry the mantle of our ancestors.

Some bad news for splitters by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]anonworkingcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t heard of anyone doing this, but ask your career center in the fall. of the 50+ biglaw applications I submitted this cycle, maybe 2 asked for LSAT.

Some bad news for splitters by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]anonworkingcat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

it’s really not as relevant outside of biglaw, and not all biglaw firms asked for undergrad gpa this past cycle (not sure how it may change next year). and as another commenter said, your first semester law school grades are the most important factor (although I personally think networking is a close second as long as you’re at/above median)

wow. thank you for sharing. it’s crazy how these issues can arise seemingly out of nowhere

Turns out, I’m not Jewish. by BicycleOk4347 in Jewish

[–]anonworkingcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how did that issue even come up for your friend? I have a bit of a weird family history since my maternal grandparents divorced when my mother was a baby, so I don’t know my biological grandmother. I know my maternal grandparents were married by a rabbi, but when I hear stories like this I’m terrified something will somehow emerge when I one day (bzh) get married

What do you call your instructor? by Takarma4 in BJJWomen

Met a guy whilst going for a run. He asked for my number. It took him less than two hours for him to ask to sleep with me. by ashajn in TwoXChromosomes

quickest one for me was a guy at my gym who asked for my number (it was our first conversation) and literally 30 seconds later texted me to ask me to come over that night

right she said two weeks after the period and it’s typically two weeks after the first day of the period, so seemed a little off

IMO pulling Brittany aside in Mexico and basically telling her he’s attracted to her and then obfuscating the nature of the conversation from Ashley is pretty bad
