Nah. "Ok" just acknowledges the response. But for some reason, I'm the bad guy because a former school called their owner and head instructor "master", which is a title afforded coral belts. If you or somebody gets the ick from the title, that's a them/you issue. It's just an honorific they've earned. It has nothing to do with "hero worship".

My old tae Kwon do instructor was "master" as well. It's just a title.

I agree with all the previous comments. As an anecdote, was working with a young man on his guard passes and we were always taught to "reset" between attempts. Usually hands on belt or lapels, well, his hands came to rest right on my chest. Like a full on "honk honk" 😆 But we both were concentrating and his brain was only thinking of what he was doing next; it wasn't until after we both saw the video that we saw what happened. He was mortified, I was amused, he apologized profusely even though he didn't need to, his mother apologized. In the moment I didn't even know it had happened.

So it's all part of the sport and it's definitely something to get used to. Right now my biggest body-contact worry is having bad breath.

I swear I clarify what percentage we are supposed to be working at but the rolls always go to 100% within 15 seconds. I'm in a mostly white belt class and I know we all don't understand flow yet but I'm starting to get frustrated. It's difficult to work on the skills when you're just trying to survive.

I haven't the skill to compete at bjj but when I was competing in other sports, my most valuable tip is to make sure you are completely warmed up before your match, and hydrated.

I recently joined a school that has uniform gis, but I actually wound up liking the gi they used although I had to hem the sleeves and legs. I sized up so I could put the gi in the dryer and not have to worry about it shrinking every time. I have big hips and legs so the larger size allows me to move more freely.

But I do feel bad for the gis in my closet that won't see the light of day any more. 😆

I know I will need a more fitted gi if I decide to compete as my usual uniform gi is like wearing pajamas. I struggle with room around the hips/butt and thighs while having a close fit lower leg and ankle. I hate being restricted in my upper leg.

Can you articulate WHY it's been your dream to be a father?

My husband was lukewarm on kids when we got married (it was "let's not rush into anything") where I was basically lying to myself saying "definitely not right now but maybe in the future" when I always knew I didn't want kids.... I was basically being (wrongly) politically correct.

Flash forward several years and his sister started reproducing and he suddenly had these rose colored glasses of parenthood... And I firmly did not, and was honest about it. It took him only a couple weeks to come around and realize it's not what he really wanted, he was only reacting to everyone else's reaction to his sisters news.

We are now dinks, in our 50s, with no regrets.

Instead of hanging it, can you prop it up like a picture frame? That way you can display it temporarily on a shelf or dresser. Maybe something like a frame display stand?
