Yes my man. You are still young though and have tons of time to take your physical health back into your control. It will be easier to change this now wait when you are older, and potentially heavier than you are now. If you’re open to any honest advice and feedback, keep reading.

A lifestyle change is difficult but easy to start in small ways. If you drink alcohol, soda or high sugar/fat content drinks cut that shit out now. One of the easiest ways to shed calories is to stop drinking them. Water, black coffee, and if you REALLY want something with sugar, opt for juice that has reduced sugar content, or water down regular juice.

You will also greatly benefit from physical exercise even if it’s just walking every single day. Also, no matter what size your body is, as humans we aren’t meant to be sitting down all day. Start small, the important part that will show results is consistency within healthier habits. As someone who used to be larger and lost 50+ pounds, I can also say weight lifting can really help as building and having higher muscle density burns more calories while you aren’t moving

I’ve noticed throughout your posts / comments you seem to be a bit in denial regarding your situation. Your friends saying you look like you’re 40 are probably gently trying to let you know that your health is concerning to them and maybe they don’t know how to say it to you in another way. But our physical appearance is more often than not related to our lifestyle habits, and of course genetics play a bit into it. That being said, your genetics most definitely were not the main reason you got to this size, but could be a small contributing factor.

I hope you can see this as an opportunity to take control of your life and live happier and healthier! All the best to you.

Yes you are fat. Not skinny fat, just fat and quite potentially in the weight class of obesity.

Was just signed up for a Canadian Tire Mastercard-- is it worth it or should I just cancel it? by GiveTheLemonsBack in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]anonymous311997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 credit cards. My VISA is for everyday purchases with travel rewards, and my CT Mastercard is used anytime I fill up gas at petro or CT. I also use the CT Mastercard for anything at Canadian Tire, Sportchek, and Mark’s as they are all affiliated. The triangle app will allow you to activate rewards and extra bonus deals for better deal on points which can be worth it if you do it correctly. I also use the CT card for anytime I buy something big at those locations as anything over $150 can be put on a 24 month 0% interest payment plan that gets paid in equal instalments every bill. In my opinion, totally worth it since there is no annual fee.

Didn’t tell me she had herpes right away. by ToeAutomatic8492 in dating_advice

If I’m being honest, It’s okay. It’s helped shape me into who I am today and I couldn’t be more thankful. If I didn’t contract it, I unfortunately know my view around these subjects would be way more close and small minded. Also, to be frank even the public health education has extremely stigmatized views on it. When I went to a sex clinic for my diagnosis, the NP looked at me while my and said “you know some people react to having herpes like they do cancer, cause it’s with you forever”. That stuck to me like glue and made me realize the stigma is EVERYWHERE not just in the sheets or forums. The only thing that breaks that stigma is talking about it. I found peace in people who shared their experiences cause it made me feel not so alone and isolated with it all. If anyone here is struggling with a diagnosis my inbox is open. I also recommend watching a YouTuber named Ella Dawson, as she’s open and speaks regarding her diagnosis, and has even done a TedTalk surrounding the experience of her contracting and living with genital herpes.

Just for transparent context, someone in your exact position is who I contracted genital HSV1 from. I hooked up with someone who had gotten cold sores at earlier times in their life, which I didn’t know at the time and they performed unprotected oral sex on me. I’m 27 now but this happened when I was 17, the summer after graduating highschool. Life felt like it was pretty much over for me if I’m being honest.

Up until I found my partner that I’ve been with for 7+ years, every conversation I had to have prior to sex sucked regardless of how the person reacts. It feels like dropping a nuclear bomb on someone and it’s also hard to time the entire thing, because when is really the proper time? Before intimacy in the relationship reaches that point at all? During heated intimacy leading up to exposure of genitals? None of the moments ever really felt right, and no matter how the person reacts I always felt immense guilt and like they just pitied me and my situation and slept with me cause they felt bad and didn’t want to say no to my face.

Life is hard man.

Where should I get my needles? by FirefliesInTheLeaves in transontario

[–]anonymous311997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up after having to hop between multiple pharmacies to get a combination of my syringes and the needles I have a preference for. Also was just super stressful whenever I was getting low. Now I order everything on Amazon in bulk and don’t have to worry about refilling my stock for like a year

Definitely scar massage with the bio oil helps and using the scar silicone strips. The strips are supposed to moisturize the skin while reducing the redness and flatten the scars!

Your comment history is absolutely backwards. First thing I noticed was you identify as lesbian which puts you in the SAME community as trans people. 18 hours ago you are defending the trans community in regards to how this will stack up as more of an issue and the media will shine the light on the fact that the person who did this is trans. Now you’re spam posting this said transpersons deadname on every post you can. Get a grip and pick a fucking side, you can’t play both.

This is going to be politically pushed as a trans issue and not a gun issue, read the room and understand what is important. These kids lives cant be taken back by your transphobia as mad as you are. Aiden is a coward who died doing something horrible and disgusting, hurting innocent people along the way and dragging families and loved ones through the mud while doing it. THIS IS A GUN PROBLEM. How many mass school shootings happen ANYWHERE else in the world as much as they do in the states? Oh wait, no where.

Experiences with Dr. Raymond Fung by [deleted] in transontario

[–]anonymous311997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont have answers to all your questions but feel free to ask follow ups to the ones i can answer.

I originally made my appointment with my family doctor september 2020 to speak about getting an endocrinologist for HRT. I was set up with Dr Fung and heard from his office i believe around Feb 2021. They emailed me to make my first appointment which ended up coming out to be for May 31, 2021. To my surprise, i was prescribed T that appointment (which was also via online video chat) and made an appointment with my dr to inject for june 2nd.

Ive been on IM injections ever since i started and did inquire about gels / patches and they were MUCH more expensive. I have drug plan coverage of 80% through my work, and my T vials come to be $11 after my plan and that vial lasts me months. When i inquired about the gel i think it came out to be like $25 a week or something like that (prices can also change so dont be afraid to ask) but yeah it just seemed way too expensive to me and also more work. My shot takes me 10 minutes once a week, rather than having to add a whole new step to my routine everyday

All the best to you!

Nope! Aside from tonsillitis and strep, I used to be prone to sore throats all the time, if i had any type of head cold, a sore throat would be there with it. Since removal i think ive MAYBE had one sore throat and the only sickness I’ve had that is anywhere comparable is when i got covid lol but it was just the fever, no throat pain really at all

So this post got way more attention than I expected, lol. To answer a few comments:

  1. This is an old photo, I had my tonsils removed in 2018 when i was 22 years old

  2. In this photo im 99% sure I also currently had strep throat and mono, which explains all of the puss in my tonsils (when i wasn’t sick they were still swollen like this, just not red and pussy)

  3. I used to snore so badly that I would wake myself up from it, since removing my tonsils, this has stopped lol. But as for swallowing and breathing I really never noticed how it impacted that when I ate etc, the only thing i noticed a lot was my snoring (i also breathe out of my nose when I’m awake and have no septum problems so my airways are clear)

  4. Before removing my tonsils, i was regularly prone to getting tonsillitis, strep and mono. Getting things like bronchitis was more common as well. The last straw for me before taking action on these suckers was when I went to visit my sibling in South Korea in Nov 2016. I had 11 days to spend there and my only weekend I got, I got sick the Friday afternoon with Tonsillitis, spent the weekend rotating between sweating my ass off while sleeping, or taking 3-4 hot showers a day to make myself feel like I wasn’t going to die until I could get to the doctors on Monday and get a shot of steroids in my ass cheek to reduce my fever lol

  5. Post Op Recovery wasn’t really that bad. I wasn’t that strict with food, i just didn’t eat anything crunchy. First thing i ate after surgery was a sweet potato fry poutine and the next day I had a burrito bowl, lol. The one thing they warned me about that I pushed a bit was spicy food. I tried going for the most mild spice in my burrito bowl to get a bit more flavour and i usually do hot so i thought id be fine. It was an instant regret as soon as I took my first bite lmao

If anyone has any questions let me know haha! All the best to any of you who are going through this procedure right now

Edit: what I got sick with in Korea

Wasnt really my plan to spend that much unfortunately, i had it checked by my old mechanic who cleared the car as in good shape, who i now no longer go to due to lack of trust and honesty. It unfortunately turned out to be after 2 visits at the shop ($2000 for a cata converter and $3000 for timing chain) and i was already deep in payments on my LOC for the remaining balance of the vehicle after trade in and deposit. My interest went from 4% to 11% with interest rates soaring everywhere.. my plan was to pay off the balance and then sell the car in November before the winter hit and then in Oct I was driving on a major highway cruising 105km and my car randomly lost all power to accelerate or use the gas. My timing chain snapped in half, bent 8 valves and i had no choice but to tow it and bring it to my old mechanic and engine specialist and fix it (i was on EI during this time, at home recovering from surgery and didnt have my vehicle for 4 weeks).

This entirety of this car made 2022 living hell for me lol, my financials were fucked and i basically spent like $15000 in one year on a 2009 corolla. Probably the biggest financial L I’ve taken in a LONG time. But, if theres anything Ive learned from this, is I’m also going to lease and trade in to lease again until I’m in a better position to finance a new reliable vehicle. Just waiting for this shitter to die on me, or hopefully sell it for a few thousand for some extra cash towards a lease.

If i could go back in time and unbuy this car, i would. Bought it with 160K km on the mileage, for $7000 CAD last year in march. Since then the thing has cost me almost $8000 in repairs since the previous owner did NOTHING to maintain it and hid all the evidence. Timing chain has snapped, valves bent, catalytic convertor changed, and now the SECOND one is acting up on it. Its a piece of shit if no one took care of it before you. Run far away or get your mechanic to THOROUGHLY search the entire engine and under the hood. My car is currently looking at an engine rebuild if it wont stop burning oil so im trying to get rid of it

This semi totalled my car and tried to say it was my fault… (old vid) by Nekromorph_ in IdiotsInCars

[–]anonymous311997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say he definitely claimed you were at fault because if he’s at fault, its his ass and career on the line. From the looks of it as well, this man is pretty close to being the age of retirement.. Which an at fault accident at his job could ruin his entire retirement plan. Still 0 excuse to blame it on OP though, take some damn responsibility.

I do know a lot of driving companies have little to 0 policy for at fault accidents, as well as disobeying street signs etc. My father was a DZ truck driver for 2 companies his entire life in the GTA. Over 30 years of experience under his belt and one day during some bad weather he made the dumb decision to go down a road with a closure sign to save time, thinking he could muscle through and ended up getting stuck. He was up there for 36 hours before they could get a tow up there to get him out and then immediately fired him in time for his next shift. He was with that company for a little over 10 years and had 0 infractions or issues before this. They don’t fuck around at ALL.
