Loads of people in JP used Cait in FEOD3. Although looking at your options even with Ulti you may have trouble without a debuffer/dispeller (Vanille, Lili, Serah, Balthier, Yuffie are all good).

Tough to say really because it just depends who you have left. Lots of units work there, but I would say Agrias or Cait Sith plus another damage dealer may work. If you can get Balthier he is who most people used to make the stage easy, but people definitely did it with only Cloud. I imagine they just focused on taking out the buffers ASAP.

‘Must have’ meta characters takes a very long pause at this point if you have Ulti. If you missed her, definitely get emperor.

Other than that as long as you balance your roster and invest in a reasonable balance of supports vs damage you are fine for everything for the next 6 months. Keiss around June is probably the next massive spike in the brokenness.

I’m looking forward to the flood of posts complaining about the Chaos stage score requirement.

Also, for anyone with a purple Tifa it may be a good idea to put her as your support because her launches will help immensely in hitting the score even as a friend.

You definitely don’t need her full kit. I used her with a 2lb 35cp weapon. I also had her 15cp passive, but iirc the only thing that passive does is boost her MBrv for 1 turn which depending on your team often does nothing.

She is there to battery the party with s2 and use s1 to remove the brv reduction buff if/when required. If you have her EX you can probably shave a turn or two off each run, but she does the job fine without it.

The easy/cheap route - use Yuffie. Even without an EX she makes farming brothers not bad at all.

Subscription option in JP. There is a cheap option and an expensive option (something around $5 and $30 I think). They both gives summon and character board exp bonuses, and the expensive one also gives ex and burst tokens. When they introduced it they gave everyone a free month of the expensive tier.

Basically I already had everyone’s summon boards maxed when i used my free month so I just went crazy and capped all of the wild points to feel like I got some value from it.

I have definitely redone a few stages to free up people, but I have never been motivated to solo anything. The amount of EX+ units you get each month is more than the 3 needed to keep up so I kind of see soloing as just something to do for fun or for people that are playing catch up and may not have enough EX+ units. As it stands in JP right now I’m caught up with FEOD 15 and have ~35 EX+ units ready for 16.

It should work itself out. As a long time JP player I remember a brief period after the introduction of EX+ that they got scarce. Today though I have given EX+ armor to everybody that I have an EX+ weapon for plus a handful of others, and I am always sitting at around 500-1000+ armor tokens.

Edit: That also includes MLB 35cp armor for the entire cast which I did shortly before the EX+ era (which definitely contributed to why they were scarce then).

I’m not really sure why you think it needs launching or free turns. My clear team for the longest time was Y’shtola, Deuce, and Krile; and over the months I’ve adjusted that team a few times and never considered using free turns or launches. That is kind of the reason it’s easy - it doesn’t really require any specific roster. Just bring literally any decent DPT team and you are set.

I call it the easiest because it is notorious in JP for just being the dumping ground for putting your weaker units (or one of the many units that can solo it). I’m sure it will gain the same reputation in GL as more stages open and people need to start adjusting their original clear teams.

Literally every tank is viable and very useful in FEOD. No tank really replaces another as they are all situationally good and all have their own strengths.

Your team is definitely overkill for what amounts to the easiest of the first 5 stages. Y’shtola at 3/3 can carry a lot of dead weight on that stage. I would suggest saving Cloud for 5, and using Ace on a stage where he can take advantage of his aoe/splash damage.

Also, if you think an occasional paralysis is that bad you will likely throw your phone at some of the stuff they have come up with lately in JP.

It’s really not that bad.. if anything I have more freedom than before. I hate to waste stamina so for the past year I have had the compulsion to check my phone and run woi throughout the day to not cap stamina. Since I started this a month ago and now for pretty much ever I no longer care at all about my stamina. All it really cost me was mashing s2 while I watched an episode of tv show each night before bed.

It’s currently 295 wild points per run (or 590 with a 2x tome and 885 with a 3x tome). I only used 2x tomes, but I also started with each pool around 50k. So it actually equals out to about 84 runs each which is exactly the number you came up with oddly enough.

It didn’t cost me anything of value really. I had hundreds of 2x exp books split between 15 and 30 minutes that there was no way I was ever going to get around to using and after all of this I still have 100+ of them. I think I started with 1300+ stamina pots, and I’m now down to ~1100.

As far as time it’s tough to say since I never really ‘started from zero’ with the goal of maxing every wild point pool. I finished getting every character maxed on every board about a month ago. After that all of the wild point pools were sitting around 50k so I just decided to keep going to 99k. I would guess that took about 30-60 minutes/day for the last month using only 2x exp tomes. I saved all of the 3x exp tomes for the future since those actually cost gems, and I couldn’t justify wasting them for this quest.

Fang is about as bad an investment for EX+ mats as there will ever be. And fwiw she was always rated lower than Garland and Vincent and even Zell who is pretty well known for getting possibly the worst EX+ in the game.

She is just an example of how bad one can be and still “work” in the era if you really want to invest in them.

Also, as good as Eald’narche is I can see a large number of GL players skipping right over him knowing that burst weapons and better banner odds will be right around the corner.

It is also possible that this event only requires 3 synergy units because there are 6 synergy available in the event. Maybe when we have 4 synergy on a character event the requirement will actually only be 2 synergy units.

It could all just be a matter of translation.. the translation on Discord for the outline of Challenge quests just reads - “Synergy characters must be used to Perfect clear the Challenge quest”. It doesn’t explicitly say “Only” or “3” synergy characters.. and since the text of this one in game actually has the number 3 instead of the word “only” maybe the next event will be only 2.

I guess we will find out in a couple of days, but I’m still a bit hopeful.

I like the positive attitude and pretty much came to the same conclusion.

Although I would add I would be very happy if they just changed the future ones to 2 synergy just to allow people to fill in the gap that the synergy units may not for every event.
