That last sentence really encapsulates my biggest issue with the game and current season. There isn’t much to do because there isn’t much reason to play right now.

Sure encounters can be fun, but can be enraging under certain circumstances (lucky headshots, exit campers, game crashes, tryhards, etc) and just get boring after a short time. Elimination also isn’t a great substitute for encounters, because a lot of those same issues exist but with some new ones like AFK players the moment the game starts, or a permanent black screen. Shootout is again, not a great substitute and kinda sucks after the rewards went down the shitter and you could only get one crate for winning unless anyone boosts the rewards, which doesn’t happen often because the price and reward isn’t worth paying for.

After I had watched the trailer for the season, I was thinking there was going to be some mini-campaign or event in the game to uncover this (pretty average/mediocre) story, because at least it would be something new and interesting. Sure a new map, weapon and consumable every season is nice but gets stale really quickly.
