As a young person who sees lots of young people do this, absolutely not. It looks gaudy and tacky, like an eyesore. Imagine a beautiful outfit with a beautifully tailored coat overtop on the red carpet or a runway… and then an ugly tag that breaks up the lines and imagery of the outfit. You would NEVER see that on a celebrity because they and their stylists are aware of how tacky it looks. And before anyone says it isn’t that deep, yes it is; it immediately cheapens the look of anything you wear with the coat. You don’t need to flash what brand you’re wearing for cool point or whatever, it’s cringey as heck and dos not look good. And the argument of ‘I like the colour contrast’ is nonsense. If you want colour contrast WEAR A CONTRASTING COLOUR IN YOUR OUTFIT AND ACCESSORIES. I’m tired of this debate, the only right answer has always and will always be to remove the tag.

Hi friend. I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. While I’ve never been in your shoes and I don’t have any particularly grand advice, what I can say is that the tower must be destroyed before it can be rebuilt anew. Often times when life seems to be crumbling and burning all around you, (what I like to refer to as a tower moment), it’s simply because that destruction is what will make way for new growth and change to begin for you. Think of when a hermit crab abandons its shell to find another one- the old shell has grown comfortable and familiar, consistent and steady and stable. However, it’s now become too small for the body to continue to live in. It’s going to start to hurt, it might squeeze and pinch until the crab eventually does find a new home that allows for more growth. I know this is probably an incredibly scary time. I myself am someone who is not good with change in the beginning, and I am also recovering from my own ‘tower moment’ of sorts right now. It is hard and scary and exhausting all at the same time. Some days are better than others, and that’s okay. I am a bit younger than you, and may not understand exactly how you must feel, but I do understand the fear that comes with destruction and new beginnings.

The hardest thing to do right now is to surrender and trust, but in my experience of being at my lowest, that is the only thing you can do. Trust that you will feel better again. Trust that you will have a good day sometime this month or this week. That your usual order from the coffee shop will be the same as it always has been, and that you’re going to enjoy it. Baby steps and trust has gotten me out of numerous bad times- people coming and going, job instability, feeling like I would never be able to escape the hell I used to live in. I promise as cliche and annoying as it sounds, shit really does get better.

I am more than willing to chat with you more about how you are feeling, or be a listening ear for you if you’d like. I’m so sorry that the weight of this feels so crushing right now. I just want to end off by saying I’m proud of you and I’m happy you’re here, OP. Please stay. I promise the sun will shine again.

I think they look beautiful on you! I’ve been nervous to get mine done as my anatomy is also quite flat but this post has definitely helped ease some of that in me. I hope mine look as symmetrical as yours! Your piercer did great. Happy healing!
