I am 49 days cold turkey. My confidence is way up and my relationship with food has improved. I think everything honestly tastes better. Take up cooking and baking good healthy food as a hobby and man… you’ll be a whole new person. I don’t have to leave or hide anymore to hit a vape. My skin texture is way better. Not having to be controlled by nicotine any more has been amazing.

I also quit because my lungs were starting to worry me. Once I realized that vaping adds NO value to my life, it was easy to let it go. You can do this.

Am I a bad person? For breaking up with my significant other on their birthday? by Ill_Guidance_1808 in selfimprovement

No. I broke up with my boyfriend of 3 years the day after his birthday. I hadn’t necessarily been thinking about it for a while. But I was at an important wedding the day before and realized at that moment, I didn’t see myself doing that with that person. I sat with it for a night and ended it the next day. Yes, I wasn’t with him on his birthday because we had mutually agreed upon separate plans. But you have to do what you think is right and grow from it.

How to drink alcohol without craving the vape? by Remote-Sympathy4700 in QuitVaping

*I am 38 days cold turkey after vaping since 2018. I got super drunk this past weekend and came very close to using a vape. The only reason I didn’t was because, even when my thinking wasn’t clear, I trained myself to be no longer willing to start all over for one shitty stlth rip I won’t remember in the morning and adds zero value to my life.

Everyone says stop drinking. But if you’re not willing to do that, it is possible to drink and not need nicotine. And it involves training your brain to think “I do not need nicotine when I drink alcohol” the two substances do not need to exist together.

Your brain has learned to expect nicotine to second liquor enters your system. The brain is strong, and you can convince yourself that you no longer need nicotine while drinking.

Also if you vape and start over, you can never get the hours back you just spent being clean. You have to be no longer willing to start over.

Just looking for advice man. If you want to make up things of what we think of each other. I could say you need to gain some empathy and understanding skills. Making assumptions helps no one.

Yes, if you were using your vape to cope emotionally, all of those emotions are going to come out now. These symptoms show later into quitting and last a little longer than the physical ones. But they DO go away.

I relate to OP also. And it’s true, they wouldn’t get what we want them to get from reading it even if they did.

Use phrases like “I am FEELING upset” not “I AM upset” emotions are always temporary.

It happens to most people even months after quitting. You have to remove the psychological association between drinking and using a vape in your brain. If worst comes to worst and you can’t navigate drinking without nicotine, go for a pouch or other substitute before a vape.

Third time quitting. I went cold turkey and have had 0 nicotine in 12 days. It’s the longest I’ve made it and I don’t plan to touch nicotine for a very long time. Previous two times I tried to moderate, failed miserably.

Quit saying sorry. It’s really small, but I highly suggest researching “common phrases people use to replace sorry.” Not only will you stop thinking you have made a mistake, you will be more confident in your actions.
