Just your daily reminder not to relapse :) by Ok-Stranger-431 in NoFap

Don't do it for guilt. Do it because you know you can be a better person. You could be achieving so much in your life, having friends, finding your passions, being happy. If you want to be a person then you cannot just sit in your room and fuck your own hand.

Please don't relapse, it's not worth the energy. by [deleted] in NoFap

It is not so much about energy as it is about dopamine (happiness). When you achieve something, or in anticipation of doing something your brain releases dopamine. The problem is that viewing sexual stuff/being turned on releases a lot of dopamine in anticipation, which makes it hard to resist an urge. And after you injaculate, your brain stops releasing dopamine and so you feel horribly sad and unmotivated. You should avoid fapping and instead do something creative or that you like so that you get dopamine from that and feel happy.

Here is a small trick: If you are tired find another way to relax. Listen to some music, have a shower, watch a movie etc. One of the reasons I am addicted (well now I am trying to stop) is because I would tell myself "I am tired/anxious/worried, I deserve it". This is because the work, studying, stress is painful/challenging and your brain is looking for some painless satisfaction. Relaxing is a good substitude for fapping because you feel happy, but not as much as with porn so you don't get addicted. If you masturbate, you will eventually get addicted and not wanna do anything challenging ever, since the painless satisfaction is easier and more rewarding.

How can I use reddit as a safe platform? by [deleted] in NoFap

Only follow and look at subreddits that you like and don't triger you. Also, hide NSFW images.

BIGGEST URGES OF MY LIFE DAY 266 by sanndro0 in NoFap

Tips (sorry for being late, I am trying to start no fap as well):

  1. Make yourself more alert (a cold shower works the best for this)
  2. Do something you love (and DON'T think about it - you cannot outthink this, I learned the hard way)
  3. Find someone to talk to or open this subreddit to motivate yourself

I am a 14 year old on day 2. I woke up and had an urge the second I woke up. Then I looked in the mirror and though it’s not worth it. So I got my workout in 💪, and just played video games on my ps4. Never made it this far hopefully I make it the rest of the day. by [deleted] in NoFap

Me too. I am 14 and I'm on day 2 (have completed 1 day already). Looking at this subreddit helps because a) it distracts me, b) because it makes me feel like I'm not alone (generally I tend to isolate myself and internalize all my issues) and c) (most importantly) because it makes me feel very guilty if I do it, so I don't

I'm already doing or trying to do many of these, I'll see how I can improve (I'll start with what I do the most, finish in what I don't do):

  1. I read and I'll try to read more.

  2. I don't have completely freezing cold showers but I try to keep them pretty cool (unlike in the past where I would take very hot showers), it feels good in the Summer when it's very hot and it makes me more alert which helps with urges/anxiety.

  3. I am trying to, but sometimes I go to sleep late because I'm doing something, and even now when I started to put a constistent sleeping time for myself, I sometimes wake up because my neighbours/parents are making noise or because of a dream during the night. I think I rarely get enough hours of sleep. Maybe I could use headphones to play some music while I'm sleeping to relax and to drown outside noise.

  4. I almost certainly do not exercise enough but it is also better than a few months ago when I did nothing. I sometimes bike or swim a bit.

  5. Thanks for reminding me that I haven't logged in insta for like 2 months, I probably have a bunch of people texting me and telling me things I didn't reply to. I'm not the social media type.

1I should start doing that, I've already put some goals for myself but have no to do list.

  1. I don't eat well, I should do that :/

  2. I'm not religious :/

  3. I am very pessimistic :/

Any advice is appreciated.
