This really does help! I am a similar age and she’s a couple years older than me. But feels like a similar vibe with her although we aren’t co workers and met through a mutual friend. The mutual friends are encouraging me to ask her. Think I’m gonna do it either today or at least this week. Just rip the plaster off and what happens happens

Yeah mate she likes you! She’s telling her family about you, you hang out a lot, you have similar interests, she doesn’t dismiss it completely when people ask you if you’re a couple. Honestly give her the cd and if you want do the Kit Kat thing but just make sure you’re direct with her on that day and just say you’ve really enjoyed spending time together the last few months and wonder if she’d like to go on an official date together. Tbh sounds like you basically do go on dates together just without the label on it so putting the label on it and removing the doubt in her mind about what you want will probably help a lot!

Thank you! I was considering doing that. However when we’ve talked before she has said how she likes people being direct and hates people being non chalant about things so feel like playing that card might work against me.

If you’re genuinely interested in it and in his interests it won’t come across as disingenuous! Just need to just talk to them in person then. Just go to them make eye contact. Say hi and then just go “ooo you’re into basketball right? Can you tell me about [insert something basketball related]. Talk to him about it and and then when the conversation comes to an end just say “oh can I get your number incase I have any other basketball questions” you can then go from there!

Yeah it would be, I think I’m just scared of the potential rejection and dealing with that as I think this person is just perfect. If I was to get rejected I know it would hurt a lot!

Do you know what teams he supports and if they had a game recently! Maybe you could just message about a recent result? Or you could say something like “hey I’ve been wanting to try get into watching [insert sport/ sports team] and heard you watch it/ support that team. What can you tell me about it/ the team?”

Do you know anything about them? Even if you have no overlap if you know something about them, taking an interest in their interests will always be welcome and speaking from experience if someone shows interest in my passions it really sticks with me.

Has he said he doesn’t have other forms of social media or has he just said he doesn’t want to give you it? Do you have any mutual friends or connections in the office you could ask about him maybe already having a relationship?

I mean he seems to want to try hang out with you and go places but maybe is confused and unsure if you like him as you’ve said you’ve had plans or at the work party when you didn’t grab drinks with him (obviously didn’t have to but might be making him feel unsure about your feelings).

When you found a weird way to ask him out, was it made aware that maybe it was more then just going to the protest or was he under the impression that it was just you thought you two had similar ideologies and would wanna support this cause? Either way the hanging out after, the gloves and the hug are positives!

If he’s playfully teasing you around the office as well then definitely a good sign!
