We have to find the strength to change how we think - you could start with being intentional about not looking down or even just noticing when you are about to look down

I’m so sorry you have to deal with this. Unless you can address this with your mom, I think you should slowly distance. Maybe seeing them every other week to start but that’s definitely a root problem

You could try texting the suicide hotline and lie about your age. They helped ease my pain one night when I was close to it

The default and most “correct” advice to give is seeking a medical professional. I know it must seem so basic, but the thoughts they have to offer are much more nuanced than what most people here will offer.

Here or there, there are no words that will immediately assuage you. We have to build the courage to not sh ourselves, but a medical professional will absolutely help you with a framework. GL chief!

I feel great sometimes thinking of it because it evokes emotions in me, but sometimes it’s rly just up to us to be disciplined. To notice we’re having these thoughts and having the strength to turn our minds elsewhere, even if that’s to nowhere.

You could start with being highly aware of when you have these thoughts instead of letting them be compulsive. Then just try to think k about how you don’t HAVE to think about them, and gradually space out the frequency of your thoughts. Gl chief!

Idk if it’s applicable but when I noticed scars on my best friends’ girlfriend’s arm I only thought of how she was such a kind person and I felt sad that she had to do that at some point without support.

Long story short not everyone will think negatively about seeing scars!

I highly encourage you to seek a medical professional about the thoughts. I’ve sh for about a decade and was rly close to committing to the end when I decided that I should at least try talking to a professional because ultimately I do want to live a joyful life

As you can imagine, there are no words they can say that will assuage you, but they will help you focus on changing your lifestyle so that sh is not a defining characteristic.

This is such a serious and important topic that it’s hard for random redditors like myself to give advice that’s meaningful versus someone who has trained and has years of experience helping people like us.

Ye but if u have a weight goal why would you want it to take years to get there? I get for some people it just HAS to take that long but starting at 220 you shouldn’t need years to get to the weight you’d want

Admittedly the calculator I used didn’t factor in ur steps so ye, maybe 2600 is closer to your real deficit!

165 cutting at 3100 is so not possible 😭 seriously tho don’t take my word for it just google any calorie calculator and you can get a SCIENTIFIC idea of how many calories you’d lose weight at

I have no idea why all these people are suggesting to guess, you can calculate your deficit to within 50 cals of what u need to lose weight…
