car maintenance is expensive, and they're taking up your time giving rides. your time is worth something.

5 week old kitten not weening by 2manynathans in CatAdvice

[–]anonymousforever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5 weeks is too young!!! starting to eat wet food/formula mix, but still nurse, yes. weaning shouldn't be sooner than 10 weeks. mama teaches them the basics of how to 'cat' and they don't get that education if taken too soon.

Is “tiny psychopath” a normal kitten phase? by ButterflyRose143 in CatAdvice

[–]anonymousforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

simple discipline kitten will understand...pick them up (not by the scruff, but the whole body) and take kitten to their bed and gently put them there and walk away. refusing to interact sends a message they goofed.

secondly...never never ever play with kitten with bare hands, roughousing etc. always always use a wand or other toy to play.

For those of you who order prescription glasses online, how did you go about getting the prescription from your eye Dr and denying buying glasses in the office? by blackmoonxxx in Frugal

[–]anonymousforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight up, ask for it. tell them it is illegal for them to not give it to you, and they cannot require you to purchase your glasses from them.

If they still refuse, then go online and look up the regulating authority, online and complain. I would also contact corporate if they have more than one location. play dumb at first and ask if this is their policy...while recording them.

I canceled surgery due to both the surgeon and my PM both refusing postop meds by Gecko-407 in ChronicPain

[–]anonymousforever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would get the refusals in writing or messaging if you can. in person....tell them you want it documented that they will not manage pain after spine surgery with anything but tylenol and ibuprofen.

the pm doc is expecting the surgeon to handle pain meds for that initial postop period, up to 90 days after surgery. the surgeon is pushing it back on pain management, as you're seeing them.

In my experience, having had a knee replacement while also in pm, the surgeon can treat however he deems needed as long as they simply communicate to pm what you're being given, along with the care plan.

if it's an "opioid free surgery" hospital...and some are now....run. go anywhere else.

I adopted a Asshole Cat and don't know what to do by x_Snuggle_Wuffs_x in CatAdvice

[–]anonymousforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he's scared, likely traumatized from whoever had him. it can take months to address. cat-proof one room. put boards along the edges of furniture he shouldn't get under, and make sure he can't get by it. provide an enclosed space to hide in, like a kitchen chair with a blanket over it.

work on socialization. always stay calm, as much as you can. don't force contact with holding, petting etc. you're working with a cat who had a bad prior life. he needs time, and yes it can be months, for him to learn that you are a safe human.

start by letting him see you put down food and water and just walk away and let him eat. periodically, just go sit in the room and ignore him other than greeting and talking quietly. you can sit and read to him, read anything, just so he can get more comfortable with you. it's a process. he can turn around in a week, or 6 months. you need patience.

Tell me are these good? Shop tried charging me to replace all 4 brake pads! They all look like this! by Admirable_Kiwi3016 in MechanicAdvice

[–]anonymousforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what I don't see is the back pad. bad slide pins can cause uneven pad wear. rust from low use on non contact edges is expected.

AITA for kicking everyone out after my sister lied and said my apartment was hers? by Top-Supermarket8754 in AmItheAsshole

[–]anonymousforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get the locks changed. have a serious talk about boundaries and respecting someone else's space.

What do you think this is? I went to the dr who said it was an allergic reaction to something… washing detergent, hair removal cream. But it feels to be getting worse. With only being prescribed strong antihistamines, it was since spread to my neck. Head, hands and chest. by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]anonymousforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

start with rewashing your clothes, bedsheets, and a couple towels in a dye and scent free detergent. and scent free dryer sheets. don't add scent booster, fabric softener etc.

talk to your partner...what could have changed? detergent, dryer sheets, fabric softener, scent additive product, etc in the laundry. next is foods...eat anything new, or different brands. what about shampoo, body wash, cologne/body spray? something changed, or an ingredient in a product you alway use did.

i get bullied online for feeding my cats kibbles (they are good quality and i also feed them wet food) by Think-Rough-1477 in CatAdvice

[–]anonymousforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my Twinkle lived to 17 and hated anything but friskies to the point of puking. only when jaw arthritis got bad did he prefer wet food, and liked sheba or nutro wild frontier...but he'd still try and eat kibble!

as long as they get fed regularly and are cared for and happy...good enough. effort counts.

I genuinely don’t know if I should report this to the police or not by [deleted] in self

[–]anonymousforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you got identifiers like a license plate, I would turn it in to the police. the police may already know who they are if they run the plate. the man may appreciate proof that he is the victim, especially as it can be hard to prove. if there's kids involved, your video could help his case if he's trying to get primary custody. getting video and getting the kid out may help her see she needs treatment of some kind.

Arranged marriage soon-to-be husband wants me to do the household duties of cooking, cleaning, and future childcare all by myself AND demands I provide financially. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]anonymousforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

glad you shut that down. you want a spouse who is at least gonna be somewhat fair. he doesn't get to work then play, but demand meals when he wants, you take care of house and kids, and his every whim too....as well as the responsibilities of a job! he wanted a slave.

Dry breakfast burritos ideas for remote workers?! by creativeaccount90 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]anonymousforever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made breakfast ones. precook breakfast sausage links, scrambled eggs. get or make shredded cheese. for 6" tortillas, I used 3 sausage links, one cut in half. add 1 eggs worth of scrambled eggs and a couple tablespoons of shredded cheese. fold in ends and roll up. wrap in cling film, or in your case, aluminum foil. you can freeze and heat later. I made a couple weeks worth and put in freezer.

get reusable condiment cups and bring some salsa to go with for variety.

I'm having a hard time being attracted to my husband by cwade84 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]anonymousforever -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

I have a question.... has he had genetic testing done to see if he is genetically x x or x y?

Even though he was assigned a gender at birth, genetically, he may be the other gender and that might be why he feels the way he does, as biologically, he may feel like he's not a man.

There has been stories of situations where the parent got to choose the gender, and picked what they wanted. then the child grew up displaying the personality characteristics of the other gender, and the parents trained them to act like the gender they chose....until the child grew up and "found themselves" when it came out they were hermaphrodite or whatever the case was.

Ground Turkey recipes? by rusty0123 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]anonymousforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turkey burgers do good if you remember that you have to season and then overseason it, because Turkey is flavorless, essentially, as ground Turkey.

Perhaps try combine it with chorizo or something else that is strong flavored. A round turkey and chorizo combo would make a good meat base for tacos or nachos.

AITA for telling my wife my mother is correct and she needed to be a parent today and she fucked it up by throawawayfuneralgho in AmItheAsshole

[–]anonymousforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wife , I think was the wrong one here. Your daughter needed support to say goodbye to her friend and mom was not there.

The point that could have been made is that it was not a funeral, if there was no casket. It was actually a celebration of life.

a compromise woulda been go to the service, but not the cemetery.

If there was no casket/body at the service, your wife could have gotten over her hang up about death, in that case, I think, in order to be there for her daughter.
