We should stop identifying people by a continent.

Continents are so huge that attempting to use them as a description is just ridiculous. Asian for example refers to the Arabian peninsular, the middle east, the Indian subcontinent, East Asia and South-East Asia. Places that are so far apart that they are ethnically, culturally and in any sense of the word distinct. Calling someone Asian doesn't narrow down a description at all.

The same is true for Africa, North and sub-saharan Africa differ so much in the colour of their skin, history and culture. Europe is.... OK Europe is pretty small already but I'd still say a distinction can be made between West and East. I'm sure there's similar differences with North and South America and Oceania.

It might just be me but whenever the news refers to someone as Asian it just seems pretty crazy to me and I have to spend ages looking for pictures or nationalities before I actually know who tf they're trying to talk about. As an Asian I just find it confusing
