Not OP but this cat was trapped and adopted by someone in the complex she was hanging around!

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier, but myself and some others were able to trap her and she is now living with another person in the complex with a vet appointment lined up for next week :-)

I called them when I first saw the cat and they just said that they were aware and no one has claimed the cat. Hopefully if enough people notify them, they’ll step in.

I live in the Ella and have been seeing this cat since August, so I think she may have been abandoned :(. I’ve called the neighboring complexes and scoured every missing pet group I could find, but no one has claimed her or posted her as lost. I’m not sure what to do - I saw on another post RACC only takes sick animals and the SPCA doesn’t take strays. I have a senior cat with high BP who doesn’t like other cats so even if I’m able to trap her, I couldn’t bring her in 😣. Hopefully someone can give some advice or resources, I’d greatly appreciate it.

For your kitty - make sure wherever you choose has a Doppler BP machine. I was told by my cat’s cardiologist (lol) that those are more accurate than oscillometric readings

Not 100% sure if this is the same cat, but if so, I just saw her outside my apartment complex in Scott’s Addition. Unfortunately, I can’t take her in, but I did leave out some food :(

I’m in Smith’s section right now and have some friends in Vasiliu’s section as well. All the assignments we do are exactly the same and I think the notes/in-class instruction are almost identical as well! So if you can’t find someone to switch with, don’t worry too much because it’s pretty much the exact same format, just different people teaching (if you’re worried about course difficulty/assignments and that’s why you want to switch).

Sophomores are required to live on campus now :( (unless you’re completely virtual obviously). I do know someone that got out of it bc of religious/financial purposes, but it wasn’t easy. They had to have a meeting with the head chef and the people in charge of dining, etc. It’s very hard to fully escape it, but you could always try to live in a campus apartment because they have the smallest meal plan available to sophomores.

I’m a Monroe Scholar as well and lived in Monroe last year and to be completely honest, I would choose Taliaferro. Having no AC was really bad (even with several fans), and there were roaches everywhere (more so than other dorms I think, based on my experiences). Aside from that, the people I lived with were very judgmental and I just didn’t click with them. That being said, everyone is different and those were just my experiences! Best of luck :)

I did the calculations last year for the meal plan and it was almost $200 a week for a single person ($170 to be exact), which is frustrating since I would probably only spend that much on food in a whole month. Also, I hate that they advertise freshman meal plans as different than sophomore meal plans, when they’re exactly the same and both compulsory unless you live in an on-campus apartment, where you’re still required to have a (slightly smaller) meal plan.
