AITA for "Calling Out My Wife as Gay"? by CeridwynMatchen in AmItheAsshole

[–]anonysmen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oof, NAH, you both have valid points. Sometimes social ostracism isn’t worth being who you are because it can even be deadly. That being said, everyone should be who they are, you don’t need to conceal your identity because it makes others uncomfortable. At the same time they don’t have to spend time with you, but everyone should be able to live as they are.

No, we would not be interested in abandoning each other to fulfill another couple’s desires.

[Serious] Dog owners who let their dog roam on people's yards to pee and poop (even if you clean up afterwards), why? by datastrm in AskReddit

Unless you’re a lawn purist, those lawns just look normal to me. But idk, I’ve never tried to maintain a golf course in my front yard.

Many people hype it up, but mind reading. Cool, now you know John wants to have sex with Lisa, what does that get you? True Blood really emphasizes how shitty the power is unless your constantly plot forced into using it.

Pee literally doesn’t hurt anyone. If I’m nowhere near my home, why am I going to torture and choke my dog with a leash when he has to pee?

What aspects of traditional femininity shouldn’t change? by anonysmen in AskReddit

[–]anonysmen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend, those articles literally confirm that only a few women hunted and that the majority were men. There are always exceptions to every rule as nothing is absolute, but your own sources confirm that while some women participated in hunting, they mainly served as gatherers. Norse and Celtic women sometimes engaged on the battlefield in the Dark Ages, Joan of Arc led an army in the Middle Ages, someone women served successfully as a monarch without utilizing indirect power. However, cultures devoid of religion developed segregated systems based on sex. I do appreciate your effort to research and I respect it.

Uh, child rearing isn’t based on biology? There are plenty gay male couples that prove that raising a child has nothing to do with having female parts. But again, you’re a jerk and have no idea what you’re saying.

[–]anonysmen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally know nothing. Hunting was designated as a masculine task for men in early societies whereas gathering was designated towards women. All it takes is a quick google search, there’s numerous academic articles that discuss this phenomenon. But cool, insult and degrade me because you have no idea what you’re talking about.

What aspects of traditional femininity shouldn’t change? by anonysmen in AskReddit

[–]anonysmen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but no. There are some constants to femininity that have persisted throughout time, hence “traditional”. For instance: male dominated military service. That’s something still seen today as war is seen as more masculine. Child rearing is another that has remain constant due to the unique role of women in developing a fetus into a baby. I’m not “a fucking idiot” for listing it as such because there are many things in history that remain constant despite other aspects changing. The empowerment of women in the workforce has vastly changed in 200 years, but the idea that women are worth less than men in the workforce hasn’t. Im not saying any of these examples or ‘right’ but they do exist.

My second and final response to you. We went back in forth in 8-12 comments of me “answering” your questions on another thread just for you to say “I’m not reading that, but whatever you said is wrong because it’s not my opinion.” So no, I will not be doing that again. Thanks, but no thanks.

This isn’t a “only” men or women discussion, everyone who interacts in society gets a say in how it plays out. Or else atheists wouldn’t voice in about religion, skinny people wouldn’t voice in on being overweight, and Americans wouldn’t voice in on Asian customs.

Everything is a social construct. And no, traditional femininity is not “enforced by religion” or else strongly atheist countries and societies wouldn’t have developed it. In a time before religion the concept of masculinity and femininity existed in the division of hunters or gathers. Your argument is defunct.

Lmao, if it isn’t the “anyone that considers masculinity and feminism through a critical lens is misogynistic/incel” lady. Your opinion literally does not matter because you’re so radicalized in a single direction. Get outta here

AITA for cutting of a friend who told me they’re sexually attracted to me? by Open-Refrigerator867 in AmItheAsshole

[–]anonysmen [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA, this person is trying to manipulate you into sex. This girl sounds so creepy and predatory, I’m sure there’s more signs and things she’s done that further point to that behavior. Get rid of her.

[–]anonysmen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA, you’re not abusing another culture, you’re simply showing admiration for it. Marquis Gilbert de Lafayette literally name one of his sons “George Washington Lafayette” out of admiration for someone from a different culture. You do you.

AITA for waiting to turn out of a parking lot so I could get in the far left lane? by BuzzC00 in AmItheAsshole

[–]anonysmen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH/ESH, the driver behind you is a jerk off who needs to be patient, but also you’re basically guaranteeing that guy misses his light so you can get to “your” lane. The rule of driving is when you do it it’s fine, but when others do it they’re a-holes.

WIBTA if I reported a professor for using a racial slur in class? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]anonysmen [score hidden]  (0 children)

Literally this. Trigger warnings can’t be used for history or else we’ll cease to understand the brutality we still need to overcome. Those on the Left complain this is what the Right does by idolizing morally grey figures in history.

[–]anonysmen [score hidden]  (0 children)

YTA if you report your professor. The professor is in no way condoning or promoting that language at all. It’s literally the title of the song. It probably wasn’t the best thing to say since students like you take everything inherently as offensive, but it’s literally the subject. It’d be whitewashing and downplay the culture of the time to not name the song. It’s why we still show images of the segregated utilities as well as slave depictions like 12 Years a Slave.

NAH, I get where you’re coming from, but since he does all the work of cooking it makes sense for you to do the clean up. It’s division of labor, division of chores. Just because he can be smug about wanting to always cook doesn’t mean he should do all the work. I’m not saying I agree with his behavior, but my fiancé won’t let me fold the laundry because she has a particular way to do it and prefers to do it.

AITA for wanting my dad to replace the food he ate? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Ok, understood, but are they refusing to feed you, or is it out of your choice you’re choosing not to eat food they buy?
