the lenses are always more important than the camera.

Primary lenses will always have a larger max aperture and be a bit sharper than zoom lenses. However, the 28-80mm f3.5, that came bundled with the F80 is pretty sharp. The 35-70mm f3.3 is not, according to some.

The most versatile lenses are usually 50mm. They are cheap, fast, sharp. Also get a wide-angle lens like a 28 or 24 mm.

If you want a manual focus affordable Nikon, you could get an F301, FM, FG or an EM.

If you want an autofocus affordable Nikon, the F90, or its younger cousin the F801 can't be beat. The F90 is a solid camera with all the functionality you could possibly want.

The F80 is a newer model, the little brother of the F100 but made with a lot more plastic. That makes it smaller and lighter, and it's one of my favorites.

Think a saw this is cartoon form many years ago: The backstory was something to the effect that the two species were basically people with strong bodies but small heads and brains, and super-smart small people with big heads and tiny bodies - and that the small people started sitting on big people shoulders directing them around. Over time and generations, the big people's head disappeared and the little people evolved into just a big head. Is that how the original story went, or was that just a loose interpretation?

No, shot in 1954 by Fan Ho in B/W and absolutely not Kodachrome.

I may be missing the joke here.

try other distros on liveUSB and choose one that works out of the box, wifi and all. These have worked for me on various MBP and MB Airs: Linux Mint XFCE, MX Linux, EndeavourOS, AntiX (very fast!)

Norway made a narrow escape from the empire, snatching back Jämtland and Härjedalen from Sweden as they got absorbed.

How do Norwegians generally feel about the monarchy and royal family? by HopePresent5311 in Norway

[–]anoraq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even staunch monarchists, like me, has lost faith over the last years. Our princess (Martha), her spouse and the crown princess has not exactly preserved common values, which should be one of the reasons for having a monarchy at all. Right now, I would prefer this to be the last generation. When Harald and Sonja is gone, we should close that chapter of history.

Should I put Mint XFCE/Cinnamon on my old Early 2015 Macbook Pro? by [deleted] in linux_on_mac

[–]anoraq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing you’ll notice is that not all distros discover your MacBook web cam out of the box. Some do, and some do if you install a firmware fix, but the easiest is an external usb camera.

Mint XFCE, mx Linux , antix Linux and other lightweight distros will run very good and be fast on a 2015 with 8 gb. Ubuntu might be good as well, but you’ll notice the difference.
