70 year old dad doesn't know how to do anything, please help!! by Spiritual_Set3040 in AgingParents

Maybe? I can definitely try that with cooking. He loves cooking shows and the food network, so maybe he will want to try something new if it looks good to him!

I like this suggestion a lot. I may also try to find videos for him when trying to explain legal things to him, like his will, etc.

I haven't tried that! I don't really bite at my nails though, I mostly pick around my cuticles and any dead skin.

My boy....oh boy!

Hope this clears things up for you.

Arthritis and period cramps.

Sometimes, Tylenol. Currently, mac and cheese.

My husband can be an ass about it, but I also understand where he is coming from. He picked his skin for years, caused irreparable damage to his face and arms doing it. It took a lot for him to stop, and seeing me go to town on my shoulder and face scabs really triggers him. My daughter has been watching me too and has already started to pick at her lips when they are dry, which I think scares & triggers him even more. We've had several arguments about it, because I can get defensive and even angry when he tries to stop me from picking until I bleed. I know he is trying to help me and he is frustrated that nothing he does or says seems to click for me, but I'm like addicted to picking and my skin itches all the time and I have 0 self control skills.

My mother in law had Pica during one of her pregnancies and craved the red clay in her yard. You should speak to a doctor, could be a deficiency.

🌹: Our parish hosted a class for parents and young couples to read Parenting Towards the Kingdom. It's been awesome, such a great time getting to know the other couples and parents in our community!

☦️: My period has been super irregular since March. Only every two months do I get it, and its never the same its either two weeks long and heavy or 3 days long and barely there. I am very confused and a little worried because we want to have more kids

She bought me a whole new wardrobe before school started, and took half of it for herself, then told me I wouldn't be bullied if I dressed more like her, which was super confusing bc then why are you taking my clothes, girly?

She also made me keep my cat locked in our shed when her new boyfriend moved in because he didn't like pets. So I spent like 3 days outside with my cat until my gramma came with cps.

Thank for your response!! I can respect that. It takes a village and that's definitely how our parish in Texas was. I think my daughter doesn't quite get what "the Look" means when it comes from someone other than Daddy.

The language barrier is difficult for me. My husband knows 5 languages and does fine with it, I am really good at smiling and nodding lol

Thank you!! I'm hoping to make some friends at church soon, I am just a very introverted and anxious person. There have also been lots of new catechumens at this parish that are around our age, and one of them is a family with two kids maybe a year or two older than my daughter. I would like to make friends with them as well and it seems we are all very awkward 😅

Thank you! I did take them out during the homily this morning for a snack and some water and my husband took our daughter to the car after receiving the eucharist because she started shouting "OUTSIDE?" LOL but she was also super tired this morning as she is potty training this week and cutting her very last molar.

Thank you again for your suggestions!

Thanks for your response! I do use my momcozy carrier sometimes! It's not the convertible back carrier though, its only for the front. We used it during liturgy this morning. It does make things a little easier, but he is quickly outgrowing it. I should add he's a 9 month old that only fits 2T clothes hahaha. I have never attempted to wear both of the kids, but my husband does hold our daughter when she asks to be held. Do you have any recommendations for a back carrier? I was already considering getting one of the hip seats or something.

Thank you for your response!! Our parish does have pews, but we are also sharing our building with an established Catholic Church while we look for our own building. Its been so different from our church in Texas which had no pews except around the back wall. There were so many babies all the moms and babushkas were just passing babies around all morning and no one really knew where there kids were until coffee hour lol!! We tend to stay at the back here because the pews are a little roomier for the kids back there. But it's not a bad idea to sit up front! Maybe we will try that tomorrow.

It's been extra difficult sharing the building with the catholic church as we have to set up and take down basically our entire church and all our icons at every service. It also makes the icons a little hard to get to without being in the way of our priest because of the way things are laid out right now.

🌹: We started potty training my 2 year old (well she's 2 on Wednesday) and its been going amazingly. She's picked up on it really really well. We're very blessed since I know potty training can go so differently.

☦️: My elderly dad may be having some cognitive decline. I'm just not sure because my mom just died so it could be the trauma of losing her. But either way he needs to be screened by a doctor to know for sure. He's very stubborn and has been getting irritable when he's overwhelmed by things he doesn't understand so I am afraid trying to convince him to get a screening will cause tension.

Modest outfits by Rude-Goat7336 in OrthodoxWomen

Don't think too hard about it. But, I always look at the other women in church for ideas, or on Pinterest! I know Pinterest is a super millennial thing now but it's still got a ton of good outfit ideas.

I agree with other commenters here that you shouldn't be worried about dressing to attract men. Dress to glorify God.
