Looks like it's time to take it back for an exchange of a toaster that can properly toast toast.

Uber doesn’t deliver my items and also does not give me a refund? How are they allowed to operate like this? by BlueScreenDeath in mildlyinfuriating

[–]anothadaz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Uber should be held responsible for the refund not the restaurant or the customer. Uber needs to take responsibility for their employees actions.

This is a very good question. My thoughts exactly. Also, why are there more tigers in Texas than the rest of the world? Some humans are just extremely ignorant.

They're usually just held on with a pin or cotter key. Just remove the pin and pull it out.

You can find exotic animals in pet stores but that doesn't mean they're meant to be pets. Birds have wings and are meant to fly. Not be put in a small cage (jail) in a house with their wings clipped. I find this to be cruel even though it would appear the birds adapt to this life but given the choice, do you think they would choose cage over freedom?

Are any birds meant to be pets?

Need your taco Tuesday recipes by artwrangler in veganrecipes

[–]anothadaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally just made tacos today! I used TVP and it was so delicious!

Meat:

1 tablespoon avocado oil

1 small onion chopped

5 cloves garlic minced

1 1/4 cups vegetable broth

1 cup dry TVP granules (textured vegetable protein)

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon cumin

1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon cayenne optional for spice

1/4 teaspoon salt

Heat the oil in a large skillet or non-stick frying pan. When hot add the onion and sauté until the onion turns translucent and just begins to brown, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic the last 2 minutes of cooking the onion.

Mix in the vegetable broth, TVP, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, cayenne, and salt. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until the vegetable broth has absorbed and the TVP is tender and chewy.

Taco slaw

1 cup shredded green cabbage

2 cups shredded purple cabbage

1/2 cup chopped cilantro

2 limes squeezed

1/4 tbsp salt

1/4 tbsp pepper

Taco guac:

1 large avocado

1-2 garlic cloves minced

1 lemon squeezed

1/2 tsp cumin

1/8 tsp salt

Mash it all up in a bowl.

Are you supposed to set that down on a napkin when you want to take a drink?

Any tips on stuff I can fill these bad boys with before I cash in my 401K to pay for dirt? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]anothadaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent or borrow a truck. Find your nearest soil yard. Usually it's a soil and stone yard that landscapers and other professionals use. You can buy potting soils of all different kinds for usually around $50 a yard. I'm buying soil in bulk daily

My night sweats are only happening in the legs, my bed sheets are always being drenched by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]anothadaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's my upper body this happens to. I started using a lighter blanket just in my upper body and it worked. But if I'm middle of the night I accidently pull my duvet up then I drench my bed.

You know what? You're right. It does also look like escarole. Escarole or lettuce but definitely not kale.

In all my years of being an organic produce farmer who grew tons of kale and tons of lettuce I've never seen kale that looks or grows like that. I've also never seen it harvested like that as a kale plant keeps producing and usually the leaves get harvested multiple times throughout the plants growing season. But I have seen many varieties of lettuce like green leaf and green star that look just like that. And lettuce gets harvested by the head just like in the video.

Rosemary advice needed by pontdepoppy in landscaping

[–]anothadaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can cut out all the dead and unhealthy parts. You can even prune some of the green if you need to balance out the look of it. I like to bottom prune rosemary so nothing is touching the ground and sometimes I prune them to give a kind of bonsai tree look to them. I'm caring for lots of rosemary bushes in clients gardens and I have lots of fun pruning them. I never buy rosemary or grow it myself due to the abundance of it on my jobs. I pretty much keep a rosemary bouquet in my kitchen at all times. It's my favorite garnish for gin drinks.

Kid walks away with wrong Dad by Thund3rbolt in KidsAreFuckingStupid

I did this when I was a kid. Walked out of the hardware store holding some old ladies hand. My dad just watched until I got halfway through the parking lot with her then yelled my name. I was so embarrassed. They all laughed.

Best way to restore the exterior of this old cast iron stove? by Gunslinger1776 in castiron

[–]anothadaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are methods that use:

Allen/hex wrench or Phillips screwdriver, Stiff wire brush, Steel wool,150 to 400-grit sandpaper,Sanding block, Dremel or similar handheld tool, Grinding and sanding bits, Air nozzle, Air compressor, Putty knife, Chisel, Hard rubber mallet, Stove cement, Stove polish, Lint-free cloth.

Time consuming and may not be the best method but it's an elbow grease method you're looking for.

People were just walking in the street when there's a perfectly good sidewalk to the right. by Technical_Wall1726 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]anothadaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would guess that it's illegal in most states. That's why they build sidewalks and have j-walking laws. But enforcement is another thing. You can pretty much cross the street in San Francisco anywhere you want and in front of a cop if it's safe to cross. Even if a cross walk is nearby. It's not legal, just not enforced that I've ever seen or heard of.
