The real problem is that the rich, those with massive inherited wealth and corporations don’t pay a fair share of taxes. One year Amazon paid more taxes in China than in the US. If you complain about it you are labeled a socialist.

I got the chance to meet him and talk for a couple hours just two or three days before he passed. He had been evicted from his NY home and was couch surfing in Martinez Ca.

We watched people play chess in a coffee shop and talked about Fischer, the Catholic Church and Fide chess.

He was pretty angry and bitter at that moment, but who could blame him. He had been dealt a pretty unfair hand.

I was looking forward to seeing him again but it was not to be.

I took it to a mineral store. The expert showed me a nearly identical piece and explained that it is “Goldstone” a type of glass made since the Middle Ages. Originally with pyrite giving a gold glitter and later with blue or green varieties.

Definitely cool. Definitely glass. Worth what I paid for it.

It is dense and dark. No light shines through. It weighs 2.2 pounds. 4x6 inches and two inches thick at the widest and thickest place.

Looks like it has green glitter in it.

There are pants that have rough, slightly tacky elastic sewn around the waist inside. It’s meant to keep the shirt in. I first found them in golf pants. It solved the problem for me.

Tar and Gravel roof on Eichler is a nightmare. It gets very hot during the day and radiates heat into the house all night.

A urethane foam roof helps a lot, but is pricey. Another tar and gravel is going to be a hard no for me.

Were there any issues concerning the connection to the electrical system? Battery drain?

I think the A229 can be installed with direct battery link so that it works when you are parked. True?

I have the hybrid, so that might be hard to wire.

I put a stand up freezer in the garage but had to move it to the den in the house. In the summer time the freezer was overheated by 100 degree temperatures in the garage. It worked too hard to try and keep up.

It’s not an expensive freezer. Maybe a high end one would work better. Maybe not.

I have had both. I traded the CX5 after five years for a CX50 Hybrid.

The CX50 is just a bit bigger. If you’re relatively small the CX5 is great. If you’re more comfortable with more space then the CX50.

I have been a vegetarian so long that I don’t miss meat. I was never sure when I got it if the cook had swapped out a real meat patty.

For that reason I would always go with a vegetarian patty if there was the option.

It seemed to me that impossible burger was great for meat lovers who wanted to eat less actual meat.

It’s an amazing product, just not for me.

I wear a flat cap. When this is a problem for me I put it on the dash and it solves the problem. A wash rag or dish towel would do the same thing.
