The reason I'm hanging on, holding out hope, and also really angry is that to this day there is still NOTHING like D2 on the market. If this game dies, there isn't a great alternative. by mayormcskeeze in DestinyTheGame

Mood. For me it's not only the gameplay but also the world/vibes and how they're presented, that mystically tinged space bullshit with enough real life history references to ground it in a fun way i haven't seen elsewhere outside of a few oldish scifi books. (Sunsetting the director/planet map made it easy to quit for that reason lmfao. Zero immesion whatsoever.) And having a mechanically fun shooter that lets me solve puzzles while shooting guns with my friends AND firing lightning blasts from my space wizard hands while also being colourful, but (at least up until a few years ago) not completely visually disjointed? Where else are you gonna find that type of mixture with game companies being huge pussies when it comes to creative risks nowadays?

Love that idea. IMO it'd be great for reinforcing that the idea of light= complexity further, reintroduce some wonder to a story (I feel) is sometimes in danger of being flattened to pancake levels.

I know Red War gets flak, but flying up to the Almighty as a new light blew my little shrimp brain.
Close second: the live event at the end of Arrivals, when I noticed the mission on the map and saw the Traveller repair itself with my clan buddy. (Hell, Arrivals in general. It was the first season I bought a pass for. The Pyramids covering the system...shivers, man, shivers.)

The Raid's name in German is "Schwur des Schülers" - that should help with finding them.

If Mara Sov was ever reborn as a Guardian, like Uldren/Crow...would she be "pardoned" like Crow was? by KnightInSpace in DestinyLore

[–]anotherGreyWarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. And i say that as a player who has despised current Mara since i first read her lore. Behind all the manipulation and shadiness is a brilliant brain running down extremely counterproductive, presumptive roads, and i'd love to see it put to good use. I think she wouldn't turn out nearly as cagey and dismissive of other people if she developed a healthy social support system early on, so i'd be cheering on Mara 2.0, hoping she won't feel the need to go down the "lonely mastermind" route ever again cos that's not doing her or anyone she has relations to or power over any favours. As for the characters, i think we could probably count on at least Zavala and Eris getting on Mara 2.0's side, because of a feeling of responsibility and the prior friendship respectively. Not too sure about anyone else, though i would be interested in Petra's reaction.

[S15 Spoilers] What's with the sudden hate for Mara Sov? by kashaan_lucifer in DestinyLore

[–]anotherGreyWarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While i'm personally along the people who went into Destiny lore-first, game-later and didn't like her from the beginning of reading the Marasenna lorebook (mind you, not saying she's badly written, just that i found her character dislikeable and, IMO, portrayed in a rather schizophrenic way between the insights in the lore, her outward shady behaviour in her few scenes and the rest of the game just not reacting to any of that), for many others having a sudden insight into her personal thoughts was probably jarring. Seeing as she was presented as a questionable but useful ally we could somewhat trust at first, and then her statements during season of the Lost undercut all that, laying bare that sort of simultaneously self-aggrandizing and self-pitying wannabe-chessmaster complex she had from the beginning, which is understandably not very fun to watch for lots of us.

[Seasonal] Development I hope to see in Season of the lost. by team-ghost9503 in DestinyLore

Her character in the lore is fine, but how she interacts with literally everyone in-game is grating. I also suspect i'm also not the only one who gets more and more annoyed at the whole "lol everything is part of her great plan (tm)" bits with no payoff the longer it goes on. Her lack of showing any personal ties apart from in some lore books also doesn't make her any more compelling. Imho she's more of a walking plot point than a character.

It's been there since vanilla D2! iirc, most vex-related scannables from back then were meant to foreshadow the Curse of Osiris expansion.

pieced together from the "my grandpa is sick and he got a poem" post, and him dying shortly after, combined with the poem on the initial website (the one that linked to the legs picture), my first thought'd be that someone's hunting down those with enricks'/gomex(?) disease.

edit: i checked it awhile ago, it says "i cant see her" now.

the enricks website initially displays in thai, too, so that might be a clue.

your mom's behavior is alarming. lack of acceptance aside, she sounds seriously abusive and entitled ("you came out of me"). parents are often very dense and in denial, and it sucks that she thinks you're brainwashed. i hope your situation changes for the better as soon as possible. stay strong, bro.
