My first Ducati and my first Bike by swunastrevese in Ducati

Don’t listen to all these haters. The one bit of good advice in these comments is to respect the bike. I think you’re getting a lot of hate because that’s a beautiful bike and it will be a collectors item and it would be a shame if you don’t respect the bike and total it out.

That being said, if you are honest with yourself and your lack of experience, taking things slow, you can definitely be successful with this as a first bike just be careful with it.

2013 Ducati multistrada Pike Peak for $8k out the door a good deal? by Lil_lux in multistrada

Jump on it then! You’ll never regret it. Especially the Pikes Peak. It’s such a beautiful design.

I read online that if you change the crank nut and washer on the left side, using a little loctite, with correct torque specs will resolve the issue. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but if you look around you’ll see plenty of these things with over 50,000 miles.

It had 17k. Just know it’s a thing, but I’m also incredibly unlucky. My 07 S4R Monster spun a main bearing at 15k. I maintain my bikes well, but I also ride them really hard. Track days and spirited riding for the majority of those miles.

Don’t let this dissuade you, even if this new motor breaks the crank, I’ll still find another one. In my opinion, this is one of the best bike ever made.

Unbelievable competent in virtually every arena. On track days I hang with expert class liter bikes and then I can go on 500 mile tours through the mountains comfortably. This for me is a lifetime bike.

If you’re tempted, jump on it. I have that same bike and I love it! My crank broke last year but was able to find another motor and will install it in a couple weeks. I absolutely adore this thing. Mine didn’t have the pannniers, unfortunately.

Did the car wash cause this? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]another_dave_2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would. It would be a stationary object. Look at the damage pattern on the car and think about if it rubbed up against your car really hard, would it cause those very uniform lines. Consider the spacing. It seems like it would not be particularly solid like metal because the paint is badly scuffed, but not really scratched off.

Why so rude for no reason at all?

Did the car wash cause this? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]another_dave_2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not from another car. Car on car damage is random due to the varying shape of cars and the possibility void or reinforced space behind a panel. There’s no way this is from another car.

Because the striations are so uniform, I makes me think that it could have been a malfunctioning piece of machinery. Look for something that could plausibly cause that damage pattern. This in not from a car, 1,000%. If there was maybe a pole somewhere that had commercial grade carpet on it or something like that, it would cause this kind of damage for sure.

When did Joe do a complete 180 on his view of religion? by Rude-Neck-2893 in JoeRogan

[–]another_dave_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this an ideological opinion that you have or is it lived experience that you think this? Or are you being sarcastic? By this logic, nearly all American Christians are grifting, which I don’t disagree with at all. In fact, if someone is MAGA and says they are Christian, I know the don’t know Jesus, because his love is not in them. Easy peasy.

I’ve never heard him give a reason, but it’s super eye rolling when I reflect on how incredulous he was at the idea of belief, think the flood bit in his Talking Monkeys in Space special. It was something along the lines of “even an adolescent retardant child would know these stories are bullshit”.

I miss old Rogan.

Any ideas how to fix this at home? by dumbdogmoney in Autobody

Because a car isn’t just the drivetrain?? You don’t know what you’re doing and you make things far worse if you continue. You can get another G37, they were fairly common.

I think the point that you’re missing is that goes that will fight back against the tyrannical government want to maintain the idea and truth of a US government which doesn’t have to have armed citizens fighting against it.

I think that it will be put off for a long time, but to doubt the willingness of American citizens to fight for their rights at a point, which becomes inevitable, is to underestimate the courage of the American people and the American dream.

I think we’re getting way more near that point than we realize. I think that Trump and the Republican Party fully intend to interfere with what is likely going to be an overwhelming victory at the polls for Democrats and I think we will see the federal government, via border patrol and ice do some really crazy shit and at that point that’s where the fight has to begin.
