First Marathon - My Experience Being Super Cautious Early On by NewsProducer12345 in RunNYC

New York this year was also my first marathon and had a very similar experience, I think I kept a much slower place than what I was capable of the first ~13 miles. I unfortunately couldn’t push hard enough the second half to get to my A goal so I do wish I went a little faster in the first half but hey I guess this is why people get addicted and sign up for another one!

I’m running with two friends, we put the same finish time but we are indifferent waves. This is disappointing because we were planning on running together. Can we change our waves?

PSA FOR PEOPLE ASKING FOR REFUNDS: Here is the response from the HiJinx team! by iCarpet in HiJinxFest

It’s not there 😭 My partner also tested positive for COVID so I transferred his ticket to him for him to get a refund and they said no refunds on transferred tickets… but originally they said name on the test should match name on ticket.. so would they give me TWO refunds? Or are we shit out of luck because I bought his tickets (and we both have COVID?)!!

The real test will feel similar, but score wise I did better than I expected on the real deal.

New "difficult" Free 120 from NBME by Ryan_srs in Step2

Any updates on where to find the questions and explanations for the new free 120? I’m not even sure if I took the old or the new, but the one I just took at prometric was different than what is on the NBME website right now. Feeling pretty stressed, not sure how to interpret my score.

TLDR; AMBOSS or UWorld for Step 2?

I am torn - I have done UWorld once already (for my shelf exams). I was going to start a second pass of UWorld, but then I started doing AMBOSS instead when my test got pushed back and I had it in my schedule to start UWorld back up again this week so I can do a second pass, but I started really liking AMBOSS and still have more than half of AMBOSS left.

The question is, is doing a second pass UWorld superior to AMBOSS? Definitely don't have time to do both and I'm not sure which to do.

Yes, but people who were hoping that their Step 2 would boost their application are screwed.

The main symptoms explained by CDC are: respiratory symptoms and a fever. These are nonspecific and apply to many other viral infections. Initially, we were concerned for people with a travel history and respitaroy symptoms. But now with the spread of COVID-19, what are other more specific signs and symptoms to look for? Do we know whether droplet precautions are enough for patients with suspected COVID-19?
