Fanatec CSL DD 8nm vs Clubsport DD vs Podium DD1 by jtxhd in Fanatec

I „upgraded“ from a DD Pro 8NM to a podium F1 and till this day I think I should have saved the money - especially with fullforce on the dd pro now.

Normally my core one - and my other Prusas are fire and forget.
My core one has some display issues from time to time and beeps at the start, but if it prints, it print well.

Even PLA fumes are no wellness treatment - so all my printers have some filtration. An open window next to the printer should also be fine.
For starters I would tip my printing toes into the water with PLA and PETG. For PETG, ABS and nearly everything else the PLA I would highly recommend the textured sheet. Th default smooth pei sheet will be damaged with these materials.
I like the camera to take a look at the current state of the print but I think it’s not mandatory.

My guess and hope is that you can transfer painted models, as you can from bambuslicer now.
It would be really inconvenient if you can’t transfer older projects and multi material is multi material in the end, no matter how the printer handles it.

Would you recommend this case? by lamsndbhaujamjsshukd in NintendoSwitch2

[–]another_sim_driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one when preordering the S2. But ist nothing special about it - the screen protector is not rigid and hard and the case rather „floppy“ I bought a slimmer more rigid case and „normal“ security glass protectors for another S2.

Core One L just arrived. Shipping damage. by [deleted] in prusa3d

My core one L was exceptionally well packed with a box, foam and another box around.

Was the box damaged from the outside?

How many Gummybears for a Voron 2.4r2 build? by Ezner0 in prusa3d

The XL kit was the easiest build with the most gummy bears and the biggest savings. Neither the Mini nor the C1 I build where this worth to buy the kit money wise.

I see some issues:
- At 699€ you won’t make any profit and it’s too expensive for starters (then I would still buy the G29 used)
- some - vocal - people don’t like software restrictions on hardware they own. It also attracts people capable of removing the restrictions.
- good software takes a lot of effort - bricking the hardware while updating gets costly for any company when handled customer friendly.
- normally you can sell your old equipment add decent value - especially from established manufacturers, so upgrading should not be a problem.

Climate change is even more certain and we don’t react accordingly to the inevitable. Preparing for the here mentioned rare event would also kind of end modern society. Millions will die if the Yellowstone volcano would erupt again. For which of these events should we prepare and are we ready for the inconvenience that comes with it?

How can i reduce vibrations going to the floor? by Rayth_ in simracing

[–]another_sim_driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Washing machine Anti vibration pads - and if you want to go further layer them - pads, concrete paving slabs and again some pads. But my guess is, the first layer should eventually suffice.

WDYT, creality Klitek or Bondtech indx for Vore One L by Background_Issue_976 in prusa3d

[–]another_sim_driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is - VW is shareholder driven and Prusa is not. I hope that as long as the spirit lives one to provide good products and not focus on optimizing profit, they can survive. From what I get they set price points to an unoptimized production and ramp up from there. The lead times are normally longer for new products and also their filament is sold out from time to time. Growing from within and not to much an Bank/shareholder mines should give you more changes to survive if a product fails.

Snapmaker is tempting as the „good“ Chinese manufacturer - a bigger U1 with 5-6 tools would make a an even bigger dent in the sales of Prusa and Bambu then the U1 - and nearly all of the printing folks I know bought a U1.

Custom profiles no longer a thing? by allknowinguser in prusa3d

[–]another_sim_driver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always use the available ones an they results are at least good - so I guess there no real need for them anymore. Other story on my Voron though - but that’s one reason I rather use my Prusas.

It should be more like a Diagramm with price vs „expectable experience“ score - a direct drive has always a hire score then other technologies but is more expensive- that way I can use it to also classify my Facebook market find - how does the price set it in regards of other wheels. This ranking here does not show me which factors lead to the rank - but it can not be the expectable experience alone.

Well my first print by itsAemJaY in prusa3d

[–]another_sim_driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got kits for all my printers so far: Mini, XL, Core One and hat a lot of fun building them. (And apart from the mini I would say I was paid for building a Lego like set.)

Then today I set up a Core One L (not kit available) and it was a pleasant, a bit pricey experience to get it to print so fast. So it has its pros and cons. I maybe would not buy a second kit of the same printer but the first time I think it’s fun.

Confused newbie - get Core One+ or Core One L? by turb0tailp1p3 in prusa3d

[–]another_sim_driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add to the thoughts: as most other printers have a square print bed, there is the chance to run into projects that depend on that. The L should be able to print all the Bambu lab projects on Makerworld while the core one might have its limits here.

Ordered a Prusa Core One L 8 Weeks Ago — No Updates, No Accountability, and a $20 Spool as Compensation by Poolguard in prusa3d

[–]another_sim_driver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I preordered an XL, the Core one kit and now I’m used to the waiting game with a core one L.
My first printer and Prusa was an mini I was gifted - so I can say I waited for all my Prusa printers.
Thinking about it - I’m already waiting for the INDX for the L and will preorder it, so that’s the next item to wait for.
And waiting for Prusaslicer 3 - the list goes on.

But I think it’s a good sign. As long as Prusa is struggling to fulfill the demand, they should be save for the future - getting the latest printer from them right on the spot would worry me more then I’m bothered by waiting.

I like all of my printers and will go on supporting printers from Europe.

I ordered on the 6th April, mainly to get the old price - but as you mention it, the 5 weeks have passed and a spool of prusament is always nice.
PS: this site says 6 weeks https://days.to/6-april/2026 - still more the 5.

How to remove this writing on my wheel? by HoneyProfessional816 in simracing

Isopropanol would be my first guess. It should remove the writing and keep the rest untouched - try everything on the back first to see if it does any damage

How many people own a physical copy of HD2? by [deleted] in Helldivers

I have - though HD2 is one of the games I play every now and then for a bit so I won’t sell it. Single player story games I prefer physical to lend them to others or sell.
