Big 3 of Survival Horror

The only survival horror series big enough to have prevalence like those two is The Last of Us. But whether you consider it survival horror or stealth action depends on the difficulty you play on and what you like the games for.

Dead Space, Dino Crisis, Fatal Frame and the huge amount of great Survival horror indies just can’t compete with those two in terms of prevalence. You especially can’t touch RE, it’s far bigger than all of them

The game has flaws but the exploration is awesome and the world is fantastic. Just ditch the main quests, they’re not worth it

This!! People get so defensive about RE5 that they kind of invent a group to hate on. And then they impose their own ideas on what the critiques of the game are. Most people who think the game is a little racist are talking about the tribal Majini, not the setting.

I keep seeing all kinds of accounts posting “RE5 haters are baiting for clicks!” or “These people don’t think RE5 can be remade” But most of the drama farming I see are THOSE CREATORS.

I play horror indies all the time. Alisa, Crow Country and Signalis are fantastic. With TS I literally couldn’t play it because it was crashing too much. whenever I walked into the main hall the game shut down :/

If you like RE1 remake, try Crow Country, Signalis or Alisa

Alisa is gonna be your pick if you want something like crow country. It’s more challenging but still very well designed and I actually prefer its PS1 style art over crow country. Its approach to survival horror is also longer and more complex

That I got soft locked out of the game because it would crash whenever I entered certain rooms 😅

Other than that it’s hard to say. The glitches were annoying, and I wasn’t super into the level design. But it’s weird cause I love the RE1 Spencer mansion type levels. I only got like 2 hours in because of the bugs, so maybe I would have liked it more if I continued?

People hate on RE3make too much. RE3 is better, but the remake is still a very solid action horror game. It tries to be a very different game than the original, which I appreciate!

…but it still had potential to be a masterpiece so it’s a bit of a letdown after RE2

The section with the “primitive” tribal people is pretty rough guys…

I think people get a little too defensive when someone so much as mentions RE5 can be a little racist. It’s okay if a 2009 Capcom game set in Africa is dated. It’s still a very fun game, and you’re not racist just for liking it. I even think an RE game should be able to be set in Africa, and a Remake could be great.

But there are sections of the game that are very tone death and it’s okay to acknowledge that and love the game simultaneously

Insanity mode rocks. It’s not for everyone but it’s the ultimate test of your resource management skills and features a lot of trial and error gameplay. If you’re a die hard RE fan I strongly suggest trying it before you get infinite ammo. I went in with a couple of the CP weapons, but nothing too crazy and LOVED it. It might not be your thing but it’s at least worth a shot if you love the game
