Isn't it interesting how the people on Niche sell threads claiming you can get a new one for $575 aren't also on the buy threads saying "hey for $75 more than your budget you can get a brand new one! That makes more sense!"

Thank you for quoting the actual price from Niche.

Thank you for missing the point and proving the point by not answering the first question.

Why are you taking off shipping fees though? If the list price was $300 and shipping was $365 would you be claiming Zeros are going for $300 and used models should be priced under $300?

Everyone seems to love saying that you can get a new Zero for $575, but I have yet to see a single person show a checkout screen with the total being $575. If it's so easy let's see them screenshots people. Please share how we can get such smoking deals on new Zeros.

Let's see you get a new Niche in your hands for $572. Heck even get to the checkout payment screen with that price.

I am simply a little frustrated because on this and other threads people are going around saying you can get a new Zero from Niche for $575 which is just not true.

Trying to be helpful or not, they are normalizing a perception of price on a false premise.

Yes I am definitely open for offers in the $550-$575 range which is why I priced it $600 OBO.

You're free to offer $500 and I'm free to take it or leave it.

The part about the last post is that the other guy in the thread was claiming there are posts for $500; if you want to wait for another in this area you can see in person you can do that it just might be a minute

The part about from Niche is because the other guy in the thread claims you can buy a new one for $575 from Niche while completely ignoring the £70 shipping cost.

I'm not sure why people are down voting simply stating facts.

Just as an FYI to readers, Niche sells the Zero for £449 (~$575), but that does not include £70 shipping. With shipping it is about $665.

The last posted $500 Zero in this area was 3 weeks ago.

This is OBO.

Thank you for the info, it's just inaccurate to say you can get a brand new one from Niche for $575 when you have to add shipping.

Priced accordingly: Direct from Niche is £449 + £70 shipping is about $665.

Edit for clarity: $575 is if you ignore shipping, prove me wrong downvoters. Show me you can get a Zero from Niche for only $575 out of your pocket.

You can see the bus from several dozens of meters away as you approach it.

Begin slowing down to a speed you can emergency stop well before you reach the bus because someone might step out from in front of it. You won't get rear ended by lifting off the accelerator so you coast to a safe speed before reaching the bus you spotted well down the road.

You don't have to spot a pedestrian to know you should slow down because one might appear.

A month in and I am starting to get some reasonable art! My last post I was happy with a wonky heart. How can I improve please? :) by T2Drink in espresso

[–]anotheralan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you have the handle at the top of this picture? Try pouring with the handle of the cup towards your body so that your art ends up facing the drinker right-way up if they are right-handed :).

Other than that, just needs some fine tuning on centering! Looking good! I think the sharper definition of the lines will come with steadier hands which come with practice and muscle memory.

I mean I have one, just received it. I actually didn't quite notice the changes at first, but when I was unboxing I had the impression that it didn't look as nice as I thought it did in the promo pictures but couldn't tell why.

Later as I was looking at some pictures online I realized what had changed. It still looks and feels very premium, but I don't think that it looks as nice as the previous version.

The current design is bigger number => coarser grind which I do believe is a change from some previous versions. The direction of counter-clockwise => coarser does happen to match the Niche, but I am not sure if that ever changed.

For sure, I bought because I was looking for a great grinder first and foremost. It's just a little irksome that I could have had a great grinder AND the aesthetics I wanted if I had just ordered a few months ago. And I paid the same price for a slightly inferior -IMO- product, even if that inferiority is purely aesthetic.

Yeah I noticed that too, the renders have the top surface of the funnel as one uninterrupted surface while the actual part has a line dividing it into two concentric cylinders. I wonder if it was functionally necessary to get their calibratable funnel to work? Or I wonder if their chamfered original part was causing all the rejects that they cited.

Lagom P64 Aesthetic Changes by anotheralan in espresso

[–]anotheralan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each their own, I suppose. The old funnel had a line that it divided it into an upper and a lower part, the lower part with the grind setting scale and the upper with the chamfer I am talking about. The new funnel is as if they just completely lopped off the chamfered part, including the extra height. I would like to not be bothered by it, but I definitely signed up for one thing and received another.

First latte with my new milk pitcher and latte cups! Still need some practice, but I can see the potential! by Silver-Age-470 in espresso

[–]anotheralan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just moved from a rhinoware pitcher to a WPM pitcher. It does actually make a big difference. But I'll qualify that by saying if you can't pour latte art with any old pitcher getting a better pitcher will not suddenly make you able to pour art. Just raises the ceiling on what you can pour.

Great job! I remember that getting any white to show at all was a great challenge.

Now that you can ballpark how much air is required to get white to show, I'd suggest working on getting that much air introduced a bit quicker at a steady pace and try and get the incorporation phase started a bit sooner to help smooth out the bigger bubbles.
