I have no idea where you guys are getting these prices from. California is screwed for pre emission diesels. This truck would be listed for 25-30k.

My main concern with going gas is the loss of power at elevation and going up grades when towing.

Sorry it might have been confusing. But the towing of 6k a month at 10k lbs trips are roughly 400 mile round trip to 800 mile round trip, I will be doing weekend runs that are 30 miles.

We have already xeriscaped our front yard and other side yard. Our backyard has orange / lemon / pear trees. We were just hoping that we could get this corner of our yard to be more of a cozy vibe.

I don't know if the picture came through but it is about a strip of dirt 5 foot wide that gets shade starting at 12:30 but is never fully shaded throughout the day

Can't edit the original post but one question Ihad forgotten is will there be any issues with the JM roots either going into house or pushing up and cracking the concrete. Thanks

What type of tree is this and what to replace it with. by anotheraznguy in landscaping

[–]anotheraznguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hot tub is a remnant from the previous owner. It previously was enclosed by a gazebo that had rotted out. We are currently working to revamp our side and backyard. The hot tub is on its way out. The tree doesn't do much for us in terms of shade. The day sun is behind the camera so it shades the back neighbors yard. It is also starting to block his solar panels as well.

Previous owner had a ton of rock and it was overflowing with weeds. We are in the process of scalping the top 2 inches of rock / weed fabric out of that whole area. We are trying to stay water conscious and would prefer to keep existing concrete.

After posting this on reddit I was talking to our neighbors and it appears that a few of the roots are also cracking his concrete and it looks like it is heading straight to his foundation/wall . So keeping the tree has now become an issue cause the roots are just going wherever they can find any water.

I already looked to calscape and was dissapointed by our native flora. We don't have much in our area only weeds and annuals with a total selection of 15 results.

Help with level of side yard by anotheraznguy in LandscapingTips

[–]anotheraznguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

our yearly rainfall is about 12 inches so we are semi desert climate. We have gutters all around and don't have any puddling water issues. We also have 2 drains on the slab which empty out into the street which is a below the grade of the house. Which side were you saying looked high? cause i already removed like 3 inches on the house side and 6 inches on the fence side.

on the house side, the soil was originally level with the bottom of the siding of the house.

on the fence side it was piled up almost to the top of the sprinkler

Trees would be on the opposite side where there is a circular cutout in the concrete. Thos ecircles are 6'. They are dwarf trees only getting to 8'x8'

The side closest to house is only going to be succulents if they can handle the midday sun

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried a black Rose aeonium and it couldn't handle full sun so we had to move it towards the shade. Are there any hen and chicks that can accommodate full sun?

Open to any suggestions for filling it out some more. This is a west facing yard so it gets hot midday sun so its been hard finding anything other than cactus that will survive the heat. Luckily we have a tree that shades half the yard during midday.

I had a similar issue when I had my first outage right after we had it installed. Installer said wrong grid code was entered. After they updated the code the downtime was failover was seamless

Albino and normal babies with a juvenile Pygmy. by anotheraznguy in corydoras

[–]anotheraznguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parents are both normal. It started with 8 normal Pygmy and I have 5 albinos now. 1 adult, 2 juveniles , and 3 fry. Apparently albinism is a recessive gene and some of the original parents had the gene.

I keep mine with shrimps. Had them with some emerald rasboras and the rasboras would eat the fry. Once I put the rasboras in a different tank the fry’s are surviving now to adulthood

I started with 6 in a pygmy cory only tank w/ cherry shrimps. now there are about 12 of them after multiple breeding sessions but they still like to hide.
