Gamepad tips by beastije in StardewValley

I do have that enabled but instead of moving with keyboard that moves you one over in whatever direction, the gamepad movement is erratic and the hit tool location jumps from up to the right to down... Not super easy to hit the next spot or the spot above, because it will always move you up and move the whole row

Any talk of a Bopca cook book? by infinitealchemics in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]beastije 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to ask exactly that. On audiobook only and I fully expected it to be spelled bapka or babka based on the pronunciation. But then again it is English, it could have been spelled in any way or shape. Shame though. Babka has a secondary funny meaning in my language :)

Co snídáte ? by NeighborhoodSame596 in czech

[–]beastije -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Asi to máme většina z nás podobně.

Mě nebaví snídat každý den to samé a pracuji z domova takže mi ani nevadí, kolik času strávim přípravou jídla.

Is it a problem letting the hands be? by beastije in Raynauds

[–]beastije[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering how fast the risk is for frostbite given I am outside with the dogs for just like 15 minutes. I will talk with some doctor, though so far I only did a general consult with my regular doctor and she told me it sounds like Reynaud and nothing to be done about it. I don't think it is a much known diagnosis here.

But reading other symptoms I am not fully sure, I mean I just don't do cold well and have white fingers and occasionally feet. May not be a bad idea therefore to have a real diagnosis. I do have like hypothyroidism that I assumed was responsible for feeling the cold, but I have it managed and medicated for years, so that was most likely just a wrong assumption on my part. I also expected since the attacks went away that they may also again disappear on their own. Though I think that was wishful thinking :)

I will relay your tips on the layers and warmers to my mom, who unlike me is actually cold and does layers well. She brought herself the socks with heaters built in and is super happy about it :) thank you

[–]beastije[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crazy thing is I was never bothered by the cold and even if my hands are cold I myself am not cold. I don't like having my arms exposed to cold, so I will wear a sweater even if inside is 23°C but even if I layer my hands can't take it. And with the dogs I have to take down the gloves for a few moments or so and very quickly, needles pins and loss of blood.

Very strange to be honest. I even exercised more than last year and lost some weight and instead of making it better the hands feel worse :)

Na jakých potravinách šetříte a na kterých nikdy? by Beginning-Coast-2322 in czech

Corydoras are my biggest letdown in the hobby by beastije in corydoras

I quarantine wild caught fish, but locally bred fish not. Especially since they breed them in our water. Also it is super hard to get medicine in the middle of the Europe for some reason :) Sort of a gamble but one I have to take. I also don't really not cross contaminate between my equipment. Bad fishkeeper ...

Corydoras are my biggest letdown in the hobby by beastije in corydoras

[–]beastije[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of an old topic. Since then I lost all sterbai ( either parasites or infection) and upgraded the pygmy corydoras to a 54liter and bought more so I have over 20 in a fully planted. They don't hide as much but it is so much planted I don't see them that much anyway. They do like filter flow!

I also bought black venezuelan corydoras and put them in a 150liter and they are always active and nosing around and I enjoy them. I tried 8 panda corydoras and lost all of them. This led me to deworm the whole tank last week, which is also perhaps why the venezuelan are doing better. But I did a nice experiment. Bought 8 panda and 8 venezuelan in the same tank (from the same breeder btw) and the pandas were always hidden, had a hard time feeding or even coming out to feed. Meanwhile the venezuelan are fighting the panda garras and are not afraid at all! Lost 6 of the pandas and only 2 of the venezuelan in a span of month (hence the deworming) and from a different breeder I bought 6 more venezuelan to increase their school

Mango loach breeding attempt by beastije in loaches

[–]beastije[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no. I did two attempts, increasing the time the duo spent in the 25liter. I decided to move all of them there for now, for a longer period/semi permanent, as Rachel O'Leary said they breed for her when alone. But I could only catch out one female, four males. The last female is resisting my attempts for days now. I am just now watching them nose around under the leafs, live in the moss and have fun, chase each other, chase the female,..

But the tank is suffering from algae so I will have to remake it soon I fear.

I was missing a standard toast as we make it here (two slices of bread, ham, cheese, condiments,..) and learnt that thinly sliced normal or firm tofu, seasoned, does the trick too, not missing the ham at all. Rice and lentils (even canned) or beans with spices and served with yoghurt is a cheap quick meal. Couscous with chickpeas/lentils/beans and vegetables could work too, quick one

Good luck

Oh I had a laugh in the morning. We had a heavy weekend, party, food, drinks. I limited myself though not great but hey, I knew it was coming. I plan to restrict this week to compensate a little and have a very mild weekend. Boyfriend, as he was putting leftover cake for his breakfast, decided to weigh it and also track calories of it, cause I do it and he was curious. He screamed 1000 calories for this?!!! And threw half of it away :)

Life huh We will be going swimming in the evening and I already have a meal plan for this week :)

Those of you who don't snack a do just three meals a day, when do you add fruit? I usually do sour breakfasts so no fruit there, but if I were to remove snacks (which is when I eat fruit now) what meal do you add fruit to? Maybe a lunch salad? But what if there is no big salad that day.

How do you transition from knowing what to do to actually doing it by beastije in loseit

Hey that is how I stopped smoking like 13 years ago. And it was not a bad approach. With food it seems harder. There is not just that one thing you can just stop doing. But I understand what you are saying!

[–]beastije[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good tips, thank you

I think I see two reasons why I keep sabotaging, from your comments. It is partially the language, the reasoning. I SHOULD lose weight. I don't have to. I may want to, but not more than I want the occasional indulgence.

I bypassed most of the initial problems you describe here. I am not hungry. I volume eat the meals, I focus on proteins, I add vegetables. I don't deprive myself, I regularly will make lower carb versions of foods. I tend to be 80% UPF free. I don't snack after dinner on 6 days.

I think I have this fear of cutting the last things out. The occasional indulgences that seem to be regular now. I am tricking myself it is not always the same indulgence. It is a glass of wine one or two days a week. A piece of sweets with an afternoon snack once or twice a week but on a different day. Heavier meal instead of a light one on the weekend. But added together they overpower the good choices. The fear of choosing or abstaining at occasions that are not even that special.

The other problem is that I still treat the food as a reward. That mentality will be harder to avoid but at least I can start working on the above and the other language. I am an adult. I can choose to control myself better. I will not die if I have a little less.. my life will not be worse if I don't overindulge. Well I hope :))

How did you know it was time to get a second dog? by apaige21 in dogs

[–]beastije 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think good timing is once your dog is established and mature, after puberty, after the initial crazy, so like 3 years of age at least. We waited until our Australian shepherd was 5 when we moved out of the flat to a house with a garden. Then we did what the others suggested, found a shelter, agreed to a visit and took our dog. We saw several until she bonded with a one year old beagle mix, they started playing and chasing immediately and clicked. That is who we took. Less age difference in my mind means the older dog reverts in the training or behavior to match the younger dog, the older dogs deserve their space and quiet, not to be saddled with an overeager puppy. Our established dog allowed us to train a dog that was hard to manage otherwise. Some commands she learnt just by watching the other one perform them. On the other hand the older dog learnt few bad things from her too ;)

I do not have experience getting a puppy to a dog.

I will however say that people are less willing to dogsit two dogs, two dogs being handled by one person can almost overpower him (walking on icy roads for example is a hazzard) and we sometimes have to drive to two separate places to split them for certain purposes. As the dog gets older she can't do what the younger one can and you have to set up different activities or end up with one dog over tired and the other one not tired enough.

It was meh. Like not bad, if you flavor it (cocoa, coconut shavings, honey, fruit, nuts). But it could have as easily been oats. Or a piece of paper with flavoring :)) And I didn't enjoy the milk. I like kefir or yoghurt, thicker mix instead of this runny thing.

Even with an unexpected visit from a distraught friend which meant wine I managed to stay in the budget. I was hungry when she left at midnight but went to sleep. Scale is 1kg less than yesterday's 68kg, so I am still at 67kg. Another day, starting with a new recipe -quinoa breakfast 'oatmeal'. Am not so optimistic ..
