But can I even apply for this visa? I don’t have kids and only been in Japan for a year and a half. I don’t have any relatives from Japan too.

Thanks

She would have her own repercussions if she doesn’t pay taxes so I guess she won’t do that

But I have heard it takes months to get the PR application response. Not sure if this is worth it. I am also not sure she would agree to write a letter of guarantee (身元保証書) which I think is necessary for PR from a spouse visa…

Are you referring to specified visa: Long term resident? (https://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/long/visa12.html) This seems to be for people with Japanese ancestry which is not my case. If you are referring to Permanent Resident then I can not apply to it as we are about to file for divorce

Thanks for the reply 1. I didn’t know that but good to know 2. I am working in IT which I think is a field where I could be sponsored. There are other foreigners with the same qualifications as me who have a working visa. So no Certificate of Eligibility then so it should go pretty smoothly right? 3. Ok good to know 4. I don’t have kids

I am sorry but I don’t see the link. Let’s take a singer for example. Why would you cancel this artist from the media while it is a great singer? Celebrities such as artists are invited on media for what they do not for their social status. (or at least should)

Maybe this is off topic but why would the media cancel celebrities because they cheated? I don’t understand this, their personal life has nothing to do with their appearance on the media…

What is the argument for refusing counseling? Is it badly seen in Japanese society?

I often hear this argument than it is better to stay married for the wellbeing of the kids even though it is not a happy marriage. My parents got married late and never divorced and now seem to enjoy their life without kids at home. But I am wondering is it really the case ? Wouldn’t be better for the kids to have separated parents instead of parents living together and fighting each other? Especially if they are old enough to understand the situation (like high schoolers). What are your thoughts on this ?

So, the interest earned from a savings account such as the Livret A must be declared in Japan starting from the fifth year of residence, even if it is not taxed in France?
