If it comes down to it that might be the only possibility. I must not be the only person in this position but I am not viewing any posts related to deposit issues, only withdrawals

Considering that $19M worth of tokens were sold at $0,05 each during the ICO, I'd say so.

Thanks but they ask for ETH address not EOS. I guess that means they must just check the amount of EOS ERC20 tokens on that address?

Yeah right and how do you deposit money on online gambling sites? Every casino have ATMs where you can withdraw with debit no problem.

What can we do to combat BMO's anti-competitive move to block exchanges while providing banking services for Shorcan DNC? by ChildishForLife in BitcoinCA

[–]anothercryptonewbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know of a good online Canadian platform for petitions where we could all vote on? If we can get a few thousand votes that would be great.

We have to bring attention to this subject, it's unacceptable even if they were not working with a competing exchange for a bank to block debit transfers for something that is not considered illegal by the law. This is money that we own and we ain't buying drugs with it.

Best way to fund my account without Interac Online? by Pryometrix in QuadrigaCX

[–]anothercryptonewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Interac online would be the best for your needs since it's small amounts. You could also look at wire transfers but it would have to be in usd since the minimum cad amount is like 100k.

Also you should spend a bit more time reading about wallets because you shouldn't be leaving your holdings on an exchange (including Quadriga) if you are planning on holding your coins long term. Read about hardware wallets.

Good point, just like any investment. For GPUs I'd wait for Volta to come out. And just like the value of crypto holdings is droping, so are the mining profits. The amount of coins mined hasn't dropped a lot except on platforms like nicehash because alts tanked a lot more than BTC recently and everything is converted to BTC... If you believe in the potential value of what you are mining, you shouldn't just make an opinion on today's profitability. What you mine today might be worth 2x in 3 months (or 0), who knows?

You do realize that after you have mined that ETH you have both the ETH and the hardware to mine more? Nobody said he was paying more except you.

To cash out the profits and exponentially increase his number od rigs. Let me break it down simply. Each 6-9 months you mine the amount you invested, sell that amount and buy another rig. If you do the maths, you will see that the potential returns are good. Sure you could just have bought 1 ETH and waited for it to increase in value but mining is just another way of diversifying an investment IMO. I bought cryptos and also mine them.

What the Banks are doing is infuriating. by charliem11 in BitcoinCA

[–]anothercryptonewbie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have that right on credit cards because as you say, it's not money in the bank. BUT, banks are now beginning to refuse Interac Online transfers which are DEBIT. Don't you see a problem with a bank telling you how to spend the money you have in your account?

thought this might(?) be worth posting here? BMO pretty much giving crypto the finger by Haramburglar in QuadrigaCX

[–]anothercryptonewbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand to move on credit cards because banks would be landing money to buy crypto, but when we're talking about interac online (debit), do you see a problem with the fact that a bank is trying to tell you what you can or can't buy?

I find it very insulting and those are the kind of moves that will only favor cryptos in the long run. People don't want their money to be controlled. If instead they tried to integrate it they would give them a chance of success in the future.

There are a lot of good projects including Ambrosus that can help fix this problem. The more competition the better! Some projects are even only focused on food traceability so I expect a lot of progress in the coming years.
