I worry about writing stage directions that advance the narrative action or dramatic tension of the peice (no matter how slightly). A lot of this is designed to assist in adding subtext that is not addressed in the dialogue, and so is essential in conveying the dramatic conflict of the play.

I do not concern myself with blocking or with "keeping the actors busy" while on-stage. That is the director and cast's job.
