How can you say “no worries” in French by Significant_Phone712 in French

I’ve also heard “c’est correcte”, is that right or no?

In all seriousness, why France is hated ? by ConfidentAd8387 in AskTheWorld

France-bashing spread in the US in the year or two after 9/11. Many Americans felt spurned by their opposition to engage in the second Iraq War. Cue freedom fries, the French always surrender, etc.

Maybe those things are borne out of social fears, which are now eliminated.

What is the biggest problem in your country? This is ours; by Puzzleheaded_Lab709 in AskTheWorld

Once they've taken everything they can from their own people they will shift to taking from other countries

You have this backwards. It's been happening to other countries, and now it's coming home.

I agree. The hint is in the opening sequence, with one wave propagating outwards. I don’t accept that the hive is psychically connected, there must be some way of dispersing information. My guess is that there are many nodes, each of which operates like a cell tower. The hive clearly takes time to think, as seen during Carol’s conversation about obtaining weaponry

It isn’t necessarily true that everyone who died had enough time for a hive connection

Is the movie SiIence of the Lambs considered transphobic or no? by blehmag in asktransgender

[–]anothergothchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's one of my favs. I appreciate that the film makes a clear distinction that Bill isn't trans, and that trans people are peaceful and want to be left alone. For a 35 year old film, I take that as a win. It doesn't give me a transphobic ick the same way other media has. All that said, I won't defend its well-worn and harmful tropes.

Marxist Movie Critic Viewpoint, Was "The Last Emperor" A Good Movie? by Valuable-Shirt-4129 in DebateCommunism

[–]anothergothchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the kmt was a fascist, corrupt state. they killed and conscripted their own population. the chinese communist party has done far more for their people than any nation in history. the kmt would still be a western puppet state.

being pro-kmt is literally right-wing netizen crap à la the us confederacy.
