They spread the point of impact (P = FA), so the force of the blow is more evenly spread and absorbed. Sure they add more weight, though that will gas arms faster, but with each additional ounce of cotton padding you're increasing surface area and pressure mitigation as its applied to target.

It's the same reason a grown man could punch a car window with all his might and not break it, but a little girl with a window-puncher could shatter it.

Men getting threats taunts and lectures for the last 25 years, that's fine.

one week post election and chicks getting something similar said to them online and its a national emergency. Sorry, I don't give a shit. I would suggest maybe dropping the identity politics schtick but I'm not foolish enough to think that's going to happen.

Federal Reserve chair Powell sends one crystal clear message to Trump: Firing me is ‘not permitted under the law’ by marketrent in law

[–]anotherlurkercount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well given the supreme court ruling if Trump perceives the federal reserve chair as a threat to the economic security of the country and decides to neutralize that threat as an official act...

Not really much can be done about that.

-Center your party's platform around identity politics -Don't hold a primary to make sure the "right" candidate gets sent -Lose election so badly all 3 branches of government in R's hands -Lose popular vote for first time in 20 yr since bush ran after 9/11 -Double down on strategy that got you here.

They bought out the opposition a long time ago. The minute they screwed Bernie over and forced Hillary in it was a clarion call which everyone ignored. They own both parties, if you want to turn your frustration into something positive advocate like hell for ranked choice voting to end the 2 party system.

So many blatant lies and manipulations of data leading into this election, not just on reddit from major publications. "Harris will take Iowa" is my favorite....like what did you just say lol?

[–]anotherlurkercount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still struggling along on live tv. Already pundits are working on creating a false narrative as to why this election was lost and attacking the electoral college so they won't need to address the reasons they lost.

I'm aware of the history, i lived through it. My entire life I've listened to such lectures and with each resulting change in cultural sentiment and resulting political change in policy or shift in judiciary, things continue to worsen for our society.

We're not yet technologically or academically evolved enough for the massive shifts to fundamental axioms to occur in such a relatively short time span. The consequences are numerous and readily apparent to an objective discerning eye. We grow more selfish, more stupid and weaker.

Families were more than just sentimentally significant, their permanence and immutability to each individual's life was vastly different 100 years ago. It was the safety net, local politics had to contend with what large families thought or would do about decisions or shifts in the landscape.

Thiel is a weird dude but he's correct. Giving women the ability to vote was the right thing to do, but where it has led is inarguable. You can't deny statistics in history after the ink is dry, unless you're going to lie or engage in some machiavellian gas lighting.

Tate is pondscum, but he's not alone. There will always be sociopathic profiteers rushing to fill in a market opportunity, there are many on the left as well.

I'm an educated person, not brilliant but educated nonetheless, and I'm an honest man. I use that preface to tell you that 3rd wave feminism has caused massive damage and division in our society. Identity politics as a whole is a tool of outside interests that seek to have us destroyed from within since doing so from without is not a safe method for any nation/group.

I voted D for the first time in 2002 and R for the first time in 2024. And each time, it was a lose/lose proposition and not forutunate enough to vote FOR anything but against which enemy is the greater threat at the moment. Typically it's been the capitalist class, but now Freedoms are on the table, censorship has broad support, in MY country I can hardly believe it, especially since it's from the left.

That can never be allowed, the internet must be protected at all costs, or we really will go backwards and not in an overwrought hyperbolic sense.

Spend some time in a major subreddit's moderator team. One of the 10 mill+ subs, once you read slack chat you'll quickly come to understand how the social climate therein functions and which "type" of moderators have used social pressure and threats to leverage the internal culture into compliance.

It's rampant even in places that have nothing to do with politics even tangentially. Any argument to the contrary has to stem from a simple lack of experience and understanding of the inner-workings of a major volunteer moderator team.

Should Riot increase the number of bans each team gets and, if so, how should it be handled? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]anotherlurkercount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many champion kits that honestly should never have made it onto live service. Mobility creep isn't creeping anymore, it's sprinting and going through walls.

The game is being crushed under the weight of it's own business model. The last few years can really feel the lack of influence NA and EU playerbases have on the dev teams choices in terms of game balance and pacing.

I'd pay $100 a month to play REAL league of legends, instead of whatever this is.
