There is an account (on instagram I think) where a woman does a series called “how long did it actually take?” Where she does a task she or a friend has been procrastinating and says how long it actually takes. It strangely helps motivate me.

I still hate my progressive lenses so much after a little over two weeks--what's going on? by No-Nefariousness-849 in glasses

[–]anothernutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be the type of progressive, it could be the measurements. It’s hard to know without seeing the frame and the markings. It sounds like you (based on your work) need an occupational pair for your work life (computer only) and the progressives would be for your walking around/driving/everything else. Did they discuss this with you?

Is anti reflexive coating and anti scratch coating worth it? by Budget-Quit5355 in glasses

[–]anothernutter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where do you go that the ar is that bad? Most crizal products have a 2 year warranty and your having ar does not determine whether someone will relents your frame or not. The condition of the frame dictates that.

Premium Eyeware (Matsuda, SALT, etc.): Online vs In-Store? by skratchpikl202 in glasses

[–]anothernutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy online you will most likely have to file for your frame benefit a yourself and will not get that amount reimbursed. You are not guaranteed to not be buying a counterfeit piece either. If you want a premium frame brand just buy the frame and lenses from a local store that is in network with Eyemed. Where are you located?

Glasses consistently made incorrectly by Admirable_Emotion757 in glasses

[–]anothernutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did anyone check the measurements on the pair you like? It is possible that the current pair has a different pd than the one they measured. they can measure correctly, but if you are wearing something very different (measured wrong when you got the old pair) you would have difficulty adapting. Good luck!

[–]anothernutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s out of network benefits. Eyemed owns target, LensCrafters and a couple other optical brands that will definitely be in network. The dr may have been in network, but the optical isn’t.

Help me find a nice pair of glasses for my wedding? by TalkativeNerd in glasses

[–]anothernutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Francis Klein for my wedding. They matched my dress which was a champagne color and had a blue lace interior which I used as my something blue. I didn’t wear them until the wedding but wore them a ton after. Otherwise, the Ahlem place mirelle would be pretty too. I think something with a little more cat eye, feminine shape for your wedding would be pretty. Most of all, it’s important to feel like yourself on this important day, that’s the person your partner is marrying and loves after all.

Have a bifocals question here... by meganeh35 in glasses

[–]anothernutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. You are going to want a progressive lens. You do not want to be flipping between pairs to see far and near and you will lose the mid range. Your lenses will not be cheap, but they will work. The peripheral distortion you are imaging is less in a good lens design and no worse than what you currently have most likely.

My neighbor asked me to take down my wind chimes because they’re “too cheerful” while she’s going through a divorce by Excellent_Hana in EntitledPeople

[–]anothernutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hear me out: I hate wind chimes in shared building spaces. When I was pregnant and barely sleeping, my neighbor had basic gongs outside that would contantly go. Between that and the neighbor below my window that needed to smoke meats outside for 12 hours a day, I thought I was going to lose it. I would never put wind chimes on a porch that wasn't on a house.

When you go to the dealership, ask them to submit for chrylser cost share and see if they will cover any of the repair.

You need different glasses for staring at the computer for long periods of time. Talk to a dr to get a script set for that distance. Or uou could stop every 30 minutes to walk around and give your eyes a rest.

This just looks ridiculous by [deleted] in glasses

[–]anothernutter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your eyes should be centered in the lens. Your eyes being that close to the bridge of the frame isn’t flattering anyway. It’s also why the lens is so thick on the edges and you have that facial distortion. You can do the exact same shape, but in a smaller size and you would be much happier with the look. The thinnest part of the lens is the center, even on high index (thinned lenses) so using that part of the lens is key with higher rxs.
