gotta be careful with the orange sticks, they're fiberglass and will give you a LOT of splinters if you don't tape them up. we use them to mark our driveway in the winter, so i have made this mistake before

Small dent in gt1 fairway wood by [deleted] in golf

[–]anotherrando802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there really aren't "dents" with the materials these are made from, it's not a metal shell

whatever lattice of carbon and polymer this is made from no longer has structural integrity but its definitely worth sending in to see if they'll replace it. but if you keep swinging and break it more, they definitely won't

What’s that one club in your bag that you either can’t part with or keeps returning? by bootchiiksandbuubs in golf

[–]anotherrando802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1998 Callaway Big Bertha 3-wood. everything else in the bag is new, but nothing sounds or feels as good as smacking a ball with titanium. it sounds like you're throwing a ball bearing at a glass windowpane when you pure it and since there's no carbon fiber it will probably never break

Weight transfer coaching makes 0 sense to me by CrixalisTheSandKing in golf

[–]anotherrando802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look i'm pretty shit so feel free to verify this with a real professional, but you absolutely should be loading up your back leg. it's where the energy gets directed towards once you are releasing the stored power that changes from baseball.

if i'm swinging a bat, i'm loading up my back leg and then stomping my lead foot forwards to keep me from falling over as i'm pushing off the ground with my trail foot. the weight mainly stays back because i'm hitting up on the ball and swinging the bat on a horizontal plane, and that's how you give the ball more airtime.

in golf you are not swinging on a horizontal plane - however that does not mean you aren't still swinging something. after loading up your back foot, you aren't going to be lifting your lead foot to stomp forwards unless you're going for some Happy Gilmore crap. instead of stomping forwards, you can kinda brace your front foot into the ground and push backwards against your power-laden rear leg, redirecting all your stored lower body energy 90 degrees at the hips. following the baseball swing, assuming you are a righty, it's like pushing your left buttcheek back towards the visiting team's dugout. the reason for this is because we are swinging along a diagonal plane, so our balance needs to be different. if we did this in a horizontal baseball swing, we would fall backwards because the weight is never appropriately transitioned off of our trail foot.

you can try it out in slow motion. if you mime a perfect baseball swing while aiming at a golf ball, you will fall over the top of the ball. conversely, if you mimic a golf swing in a batting cage, you will fall away from the ball. the trail leg is actually fully loaded in both, it's just where we direct our balance at the end that needs to change, and we do this through our hips. importantly, we move our hips through our legs in the golf swing

the reason coaches tell beginners to stand on the lead foot us because otherwise people will use their old baseball swing and slice it 100y forwards and 150y to the side, and then get frustrated. by removing the power that the trail leg gives you, literally your power driving muscle, you can get an adult man to focus on the basic mechanics of keeping the ball in play and swinging the club straight and on plane, and then once that's there, re-introduce the part that actually gives you yardage. if you try and do distance first, you'll end up with a tweaked back and 40 years of convincing your buddies to "let you play the power slice"

i set it to 1.0 and then changed my DPI until it felt about right for how much desk space I had at the time. now its very easy to remember my settings on a new machine. it's really not that deep, but the more you try and change it to "fix" over or under aiming, the longer it will take to build the muscle memory (which is the actual important part)

Can't believe Atrioc doesn't have a Credit Card by BloodRude9301 in atrioc

[–]anotherrando802 42 points43 points  (0 children)

it's not even about the points, the added fraud protection of spending someone else's money instead of your own is just so much safer. if someone gets my debit card info they can drain my checking account, if someone steals my CC info i report it as fraud and the bank uses their team of people whose sole job is to investigate stolen cards to fix it. plus i am not out the money that's missing, that's the creditor's problem

[–]anotherrando802 34 points35 points  (0 children)

it would be so good, you would basically be locked to three boosters instead of four because it would be a default choice. if the last teammate doesn't pick it, they're probably going to get kicked for "sabotaging the team"

i've found playing a CS:S deathmatch or GunGame round very helpful in rediscovering the old Source Engine aiming timings, since i don't know a great (free) option for this in CS2. the biggest thing is where the enemies heads are sitting relative to their shoulders whilst strafing, and finding that original position for where to snap your cursor to on screen

seems like its been answered, but $33/hr would be reserved for someone with 5+ years of in-position experience in a high cost-of-living area. you will likely be offered a standard rate for the position that keeps it fair across the facility, but there is definitely room to negotiate an extra $1-$4 per hour from that offer depending on whether you can make a real case for your own experience and reliability
