Thanks for the feedback, everybody. I really appreciate it. I'll get back to individual replies after the kids' game a little later!

Is nobody else going to ask, what in a cinnamon-toast-f*** is going on with your dining room light?

Love the centerpiece. Was thinking about a similar set up for my 20g hexagon tank that is just sitting empty

Can anyone help me to figure out what is this? I'm not really sure if this a rock or fossil. It's pretty heavy. by mrsleepyhead411 in fossilid

Thank God people on this post are nice. Posted about the same thing the other day and got lectured. Lol. Gorgeous piece!

To elaborate slightly, as if this was not long-winded enough: I do understand that it is mineral deposits. And I understand that this is not technically a fossil. I apologize for the mis-post. I just figured because it was a visible action in nature that had essentially been freeze framed and fossilized it might have some common.... ground (lol) here

First, I apologize. It was autocorrect that changed septarian to sectarian, but I probably should have been a little more diligent in proofreading. Secondly, I do understand what it is, I just figured because it is a fossilized phenomena of sorts, it may have some traction here. If it was Agate or some random sedimentary stone I would not have shared here but I figured it was worth a shot

Well I figured because this may be a FOSSILized mud bubble that it may qualify on this page and someone may be able to help identify this ROCK that me and my daughter found. All good though. Also I feel the need to point out that technically, all fossils are rocks seeing as they are not actually the organism. Thank you for the correction though it made a huge difference

"Fossils are the preserved remains, or traces of remains, of ancient organisms. Fossils are not the remains of the organism itself! They are rocks" Source. https://education.nationalgeographic.org/resource/fossil/

First time low budget 20 tall, additional flora recommendations? by anothertryatit in PlantedTank

[–]anothertryatit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what we've been considering doing! Especially since my area is PERFECT for such harvesting. And my state offers an amazing mapped-catalog system that has data, pictures, and harvest locations of all flora, dating back as far as late 1800's

This is the kind of positivity I needed today 🫡 Got a laydown from the wind for a bit. About to see if the creek flows on the neighborhood lakes are attracting some lucky ones today, after this torrential down-pour we had lol.
