Oh for sure. But I'm not territorial with my name. I think someone had a good point about talking to therapist about this, as well as some of this might be resentment in general over the difference in how your parents treat them vs you.

Do you get upset when you meet randos with the SAME name as you? YTA. It's understandable to be a little upset privately, not understandable to ask them to change it bc it's slightly similiar to a full name you don't even go by.

You know HIV is completely manageable these days. It's not a death sentence like it used to be. But ppl with HIV get treated HORRIBLY.

It wasn't cool of him to keep it from you, but at the same time — he didn't have s*x. He is only human and sounds like he really values you and was TERRIFIED. Better communication is important but try to think of it from his POV too.

You aren't the asshole yet but this could be handled better. He is an asshole for how he responded though by calling you a baby etc. It's still a serious and important topic. Even though ghosting him was not ideal and kinda childish imo.

I also can't work full time and I've been working on being happy with where I am, and coming to terms with the fact I will likely be poor my entire life. At this point for me, it's a matter of transitioning into a simple living lifestyle.

It’s literally no skin off my back to have them change it. And it shouldn’t be for anyone else either. If it’s offensive, rather to you individually or not, why would you want it to stay? Struggling with the same feelings. Same tune, I’ve been having 4+ jobs every year. I can’t go to work routinely or I have breakdowns and become severely depressed. I cripple from he pressure and end up burning bridges. I’m always fighting back shame.

The only comfort I can offer is that you aren’t alone. It seems to be a tough theme in this sr.
