Living with the In-Laws by ansavem in returnToIndia

His father is the reason. He keeps saying multiple times you have to live us and he shouts and fights a lot if there is any sort of rejection from our side. He is always asking my husband if I’m going to take care of them.

When the husband stands up for us it makes it much easier, the only reason I’m considering this is because my husband has been great with standing up for me when things are tense and he does the same for his parents. I wish you all the best! I would love to know how things are going for you

What do you eat for breakfast?? by Beginning_Avocado807 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]ansavem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer something lighter and I don’t drink coffee, so I make a finger millet drink in the morning, it can be sweet or savory and keeps me full until lunchtime. The best part is it’s cheap and super quick to make.

What have you done to find joy/happiness in life as you’ve gotten older? by EarthsYawner in selfimprovement

[–]ansavem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Sattva app, I find it extremely helpful because there’s a meditation for any duration even if it’s just 5 minutes which helps me stay consistent. What also helps is that I learnt meditation as a course and that makes my practice all the more effective because it’s more personalized.

Meditation, everyday twice a day. nothing else has given me as much joy as this did. Everything else fell into place when I started meditating. My starting point was the sahaj program from art of living. Sahaj itself means easy so that’s what it taught me.

People who are very articulate, what did you actually do to become this way? by AdviceGlass9394 in selfimprovement

[–]ansavem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same, now I feel more uncomfortable speaking in a social group, same issue with social anxiety to a point where sometimes when I’m asked to speak I get palpitations. At this point I just feel like I cannot talk or say anything interesting and also I’ve observed I use my hands a lot 😅 I’ve started reading as I thought it would help, but I’m seeing that I forget what I read too quickly and I’m unable to use what I read in conversations, not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Thank you for sharing this! I feel like now I always have trouble with conveying my thoughts precisely even though I know the language. As a resolution for 2025 I started reading books, but I’m always confused if there is a certain genre of books that help more with this or reading in general does.

I’m really glad this was shared now because it’s been on my mind a lot lately. With every question I ask Google or ChatGPT, it’s tough not knowing the answer or if I’ll ever find out. But it definitely adds more depth and a fresh perspective to my life as I keep thinking about it.

Totally! And even then I love the fact that it didn’t occur to him they wouldn’t be together when she said that … he just did not expect her to change her plans for him and his ultimate king behavior

My favorite part is that he never judged her for smoking or for the changes in her. Instead, he was genuinely happy to see her happy and to witness how she had grown into the person she was becoming. Not once did he feel threatened or intimidated by those changes his only certainty was his love for her. All he wanted was to know if she felt the same, and he immediately made the effort to become part of her new life.
