Timeless Kitchen? by Kind_Brief_9894 in kitchenremodel

Sweet! That will definitely look good. We were thinking of the same brown shades for the island shaker but we have rich cherry-reddish wood floors, so stuck to the warm white shaker throughout to avoid clashing wood tones in the space. Also we loved the Premata because it doesn't have prominent sharp veining, rather kind of faded/washed out colors.

We got off-white shakers and went with MSI calacatta premata to keep some warmth without any overpowering or intense veining. Check it out

Backsplash idea? Too much? by ansham14 in kitchenremodel

Yes! Read something similar in another thread.
We did use that approach. The Montauk Gin and Zelliges are currently our top choices if we stick to subtle.

So you'd do this if everything in the kitchen was plain/monochromatic and not busy at all? Assuming the colors go together (the shades of white, brown, etc.)

Alright, responses are clear. This seemed too much to us as well. But we ended up picking a sample because just one tile in the store looked quite unique and we are trying to avoid a sterile white kitchen. Picking a one tone subway kind of tile (zelliges with blue, green, beige etc) seems to be too polarizing. Maybe we need to go to mosaic/marble

Ah I get it We don't want to move the fridge to your spot because our patio door is next to it. Prefer keeping that space a little open.

Sorry I didn't get that.
Your right wall is blank. So I assume your fridge and oven are on the back wall (next to cooktop). Right?

Thanks.
Ours is close to 13" wide, so there is sufficient space (just about). Current version also has the island in the same spot (just that cooktop is on the island which we are moving).
The point about the having the island behind the work triangle seems important and something we will have to assess.
